Take a cortado, for example. A cortado is equal parts espresso and steamed milk, designed to balance the richness of espresso without overpowering it. Because it’s such a simple drink, every detail matters—especially milk temperature and texture. Milk that’s too hot can burn and mask the espresso, while properly steamed, silky milk enhances its natural sweetness and body.
