A brief note to our outstanding community and friends: yesterday we were faced with a difficult decision as a business. For the first time in nearly 3.5 years of ownership, I made the choice to close Funistrada for the evening due to having a shortage of available kitchen staff. This decision was not made lightly, and please know that we explored every reasonable option to keep our doors open; however, the health and well-being of our staff, as well as our patrons, is our top priority, and it became clear that it was in the best interest of everyone’s safety to close for the night. It broke my heart to reach out and inform every guest that we could not honor their reservation with us, but I just have to say that I was so appreciative of everyone’s graciousness and understanding. I know that many guests had made their reservations months in advance; at the very least, I know for many it was both inconvenient and disappointing to have to make alternative dinner plans. However, I just wanted to send a heartfelt message of immense gratitude. The outpouring of kind words was truly touching. Thank you, thank you!

A huge thank you also goes out to Corinne at Inn and Trail Gourmet for stepping in and fulfilling a lasagna tray order for a customer that we were no longer able to provide. I am so grateful for her show of support and friendship in our time of need!

While summer is always a busy time for us, this September has been more challenging, as we’ve been grappling with a staffing shortage due to our college help returning to school and some staffing switches in the kitchen. I know nothing about this post is brief at this point 😂 but I am going to continue to go on and praise our crew for their incredible resilience and flexibility. Over the past few weeks, everyone has been stepping up and pitching in when needed: kitchen staff working double shifts, servers taking turns hosting, bussing, and washing dishes. Thank you for changing your plans to cover a shift, lend a hand, and make a difference AND doing it with such grace and professionalism. THANK YOU for being part of the TEAM that makes the dream a reality!!

Thank you to our amazing customers for your loyalty, support, and love. I humbly ask for your prayerful wishes for our team; we are on the road to recovery and intend to be open again on Tuesday evening, doing what we do best. 💜
