The goal of the Manteca Unified School District (MUSD) Nutrition Services page is to share important information about the department with the public and encourage open and respectful dialogue with our community. We ask that everyone abide by the following guidelines:

Students and staff came together this morning to celebrate Apple Crunch Day with fresh, locally grown California apples and plenty of smiles. 🍎

The fun didn't stop there. Lathrop's School Support Assistants (SSAs) joined in on the celebration, making the event even more memorable for students as they took part in the district-wide crunch at 8:15 a.m. ❤️

As we celebrate Apple Crunch Day, we want to recognize the incredible work of our MUSD Nutrition Education Team and extend a special thank you to Nutrition Supervisor Paula Reynoso for coordinating this event across the district. 🍏

A huge shoutout also goes to every Nutrition Education staff member at our school sites. From preparing apples and organizing activities to helping students participate in the celebration, your efforts made this day possible. Your commitment to serving our students goes far beyond the cafeteria, and we are grateful for everything you do each day. ❤️

Food safety happens long before a meal reaches a student’s tray! 🍎

Checking dates and rotating stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) are just a couple of the ways our Nutrition Education team helps ensure the food we serve is fresh and safe, while also minimizing food waste.

Student safety is a priority across our district, and in our kitchens, that means paying attention to the little things every single day. From receiving and storing food properly to checking dates, temperatures, and sanitation, food safety is always on the menu. 💚
