We loved hosting this wonderful group from The Cottages Senior Living and Memory Care today!

They got to love up on a day old calf, watch a live birth, take a trip to the Grotegut Dairy Farm Inc, and explore our great exhibits. The absolute highlight of the day was seeing one resident fulfill a lifelong wish—milking Addie the cow! 🐄❤ Thanks for visiting us!

This past weekend, Jill, our Birthing Barn Coordinator, and our friend Kyle, represented Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center at Cows on the Concourse in Madison. 🐄🧀

They spent their day educating about Total Mixed Ration (TMR) up close and engaging with individuals who might not be aware of our great attraction in Manitowoc County. A great event to share our mission and bridge the gap between consumers and Wisconsin agriculture in the big city!

Yesterday, Nekoosa School District hosted their End of Year Celebration in our conference space, and they took full advantage of their visit by including a field trip to their day!

Highlights from the day:
🐄 Watched a calf birth & named her Daisy
🍓 Extracted DNA from strawberry in our STEM lab
🚌 Visited the Grotegut Dairy Farm Inc on a bus tour
🚜 Drove the combine simulator, played in kinetic sand & more!

Fun Fact Friday! 🏷️🐄 Ever wonder what those colored "earrings" are on a cow?

They are not random numbers! In fact, those numbers are what identify that cow. This important number allows farmers to keep track of their birthday, what pen they belong in, and more!
