Today is one of those hard days... A wonderful couple came in and my sister immediately knew that something was wrong. Unfortunately, they let my sister know that their dog has aggressive terminal cancer and was scheduled to be put to sleep later today.

The couple was on the way to the vet, and they wanted to bring Dexter to his favorite Ice Cream shop, Dairy Queen, for his last pup cup. My wife made Dexter a jumbo sized chocolate pup cup with extra peanut butter and whipped cream.

Dexter is 12 years old, and within the five minutes I spent with him, you can tell he was special, he was DEEPLY loved, and he was always the goodest of all the boys.

May you rest in peace Dexter. Dogs give us 100s of years of love just 10-12 short years and the best gift we can give them in return, is to ensure they don't suffer. As somebody who loves dogs, you can't understand unless you've been in the Vet room holding their paw to the last second.

Our DQ on Second Street is looking to hire maybe 3-4 employees to join our team, specifically on Chill (soft serve side). Our starting pay is $16/hr and you will be bumped to $17 after mastering the position. Hours of need are 5-10pm or 5-11pm on Friday/Saturday. Please apply in store.

Other DQs in the area, specifically Concord and Somersworth, NH are also having similar staffing needs. So if you're in that area, that owner is also looking for some help.

Tonight we yet again welcomed what seemed like hundreds and hundreds of young adults from across the city after their after school activities. I really wanted to mention that tonight went fantastic, and everybody had a great time. It's an honor to continue this tradition, especially as a Memorial Student myself (2008)

I even got to meet one of the team captains of Memorial Football, along with one of my staff members, AJ. I heard you guys kicked some butt!

Thank you so much everybody. I would have taken more photos, but there was too much ice cream to make 🤣

Queen City Bridge to be "closed indefinitely" after a routine inspection revealed "potential structural deficiencies"

I can only imagine the traffic this week.

Potential structural integrity issues close Queen City Bridge

This morning the City of Manchester, Department of Public Works, was notified of potential structural deficiencies identified during a routine NH DOT inspection of the Queen City Bridge.

At this point the full inspection has yet to be completed.

In order to protect the safety of the traveling public the bridge will be closed until further notice.

We will continue to keep the public informed as the inspection is complete, and will provide updates and plans for traffic as information becomes available.

This will be the final post on this topic. Both young gentleman that threw items in my dining room last night came back to apologize, man to man. We had a great talk, honestly probably the most sincere apology that I've gotten in regards to situations like this.

Earlier today I had my mind made up that I was going to press no trespassing charges, but after this discussion, I am happy to put that aside and continue to welcome both of them, as well as their respective team. Of course, with the understanding that last night can never happen again. I also look back at my own actions, replaying the night, and know I could have handled myself better as well.

I also wanted to also take a moment to thank the Athletic Director of Manchester School District, Christine, for her diligent work on this matter. We are looking to put this in the past and move forward.

Lastly, these young men were upset at the racist comments left by some commentors last night. While I can't directly control comments, I must agree that racism or bigotry is never acceptable. I told the young men that I understand and that's ultimately why I deleted the post with their faces and lock the comments on the second post. After all of this, we shook hands and meant it.

In the end, this was resolved faster, and far more amicably than I was hoping for. Let's keep this a fun, safe, and inviting environment for everybody.

I would like to schedule an in person meeting with the Athletic Directors/Football Coaches of both Memorial and Central High School.

I deleted the last post as it got incredibly inflammatory with too many racist comments and was generally out of control with "bot" accounts. That is not the atmosphere that I try to create with this page.

99% of the students we served last night were beyond phenomenal and I will work hard to not let the bad 1% spoil it for everybody.
