Point Person - Qian Yang: Everyone knows our dedicated Assistant General Manager, Qian, but here are a few things you may not know about him:

He has been with Beach Point full-time for the past 8 years, after starting as a summer management intern in 2016.

He is a graduate of Iowa State University and holds a master’s degree in hospitality management.

He and his wife are the proud parents of their beautiful 14-month-old daughter, Julia.

Beach Point Yacht Club’s very own, Andrew Berdon and his TP52 Summer Storm, were crowned Class 0 World Champions at the 2026 ORC - Offshore Racing Congress World Championship. They had an exceptional week that included five race wins (one shared). The event is one of the most prestigious events in international sailing, combining world-class competition with the unique settings of Naples and Sorrento.

Joining Andy aboard Summer Storm were Volvo Ocean Race rockstar Stu Bannatyne and tactician Joachim Aschenbrenner, as well as Chris Welch, Robin Zinkmann, Nick Heiner, Stefano Nava, Mal Parker, Ryan Foley, Tate Shaffer, Simon Hunter, Ben Bardwell, and Brad Terpstra. Congratulations to Andy and his incredible team!

Point Person: Madison Allan - You’ve likely seen Madison’s smiling face throughout the restaurants over the past two seasons. After all, she is our Food and Beverage Director. Madison holds a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant, Food and Beverage Management from Johnson and Wales University in Providence and brings extensive experience in the hospitality industry. She has previously worked at Chevy Chase Club in Washington, DC, as well as at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, the 2026 host site of the US Open. Madison was born in Massachusetts and grew up in New Hampshire. She has an identical twin sister, is an avid tennis player, and during the Club’s closure, she became engaged to her fiancé, Luke.

If you haven't already stopped by to see it, during the closure, we began refreshing the grand corridor by the Harbor Room. A few finishing touches are still underway, but we hope you enjoy the updated hallway.

We share with sadness and sorrow that our longtime Waterfront Director, Mike Mariani, has passed away. Mike was a central part of and made better the lives of generations of BPC members.

Beach Point made a big splash at the CMAA Club Management World Conference, the largest annual gathering of the Club Industry.

At the Idea Fair, Liz earned a blue ribbon for her outstanding submissions highlighting BPC’s sustainability initiatives.

Batu was awarded a Club Foundation college scholarship.

Randy was honored as Club Executive of the Year.

This year's world conference was a proud moment for the entire Beach Point community and a celebration of the leadership, innovation, and commitment that define our club.

We are so excited to share with you the newest edition of Club Management Magazine, featuring the article on our General Manager, Randy Ruder, CCM, CCE, MBA, being named Club Executive of the Year. The article is called "Creating Pathways for Others" because, while Randy is a most deserving recipient of this honor, the story isn’t just about him. It’s a focus on mentorship and elevating others along the way.

Randy Ruder, CCM, CCE, CMAA Fellow, is the kind of leader who prefers the spotlight to shine everywhere but on himself.
