Today, the patriarch of the Casa Escobar empire was remembered in a funeral service. His amazing life was celebrated.

During his eulogy, the restaurant, Casa Escobar was noted as a restaurant that not only bore their name but also their heart and soul.

More than once his infectious laugh, sense of humor and wonderfully big smile was noted during the service. He will be remembered by these.

Carol lost her home in the Woolsey fires, yet - 7 weeks later - she and her group (and some special guests!) sang their hearts out for us on New Years Eve...

Jerry Peterson was a regular on the stage with Lenny Goldsmith at Casa Escobar Malibu and other venues around Southern Ca.

He was a talented musician with the saxophone. He was known for playing the Alto and Tenor Sax SAME TIME! He was unassuming- often wearing a t-shirt and a sweatpants on stage. He was not on stage to be seen, recognized, or to grandstand.

He just loved to play.

He died today with complications of Covid-19. He will be missed by many.

A Great Big Shout Out to our Beloved Friends, Family, and Patrons who graced us here at Casa Escobar with your support and presence. We feel so grateful to have shared many a good time with all of you and consider you part of our legacy. We want to thank our hard-working staff for the dedication and time you spent serving our valued customers with respect and care.

Although it pulls on our heart strings to see this chapter closed, we feel when one door closes another one opens.

Sooooo, with that said, be on the lookout for a new beginning and remember, “Mi casa es tu casa!”
