Unparalleled quality, a human story, and sustainability – that’s our coffee philosophy. We won’t buy a coffee unless we know that it will inspire you. Often times a producer’s story gets lost in the coffee supply chain. It’s our focus to provide a seed to cup experience, honoring everyone involved. We purchase coffees directly from producers and through brokers who share our goal of making coffee a sustainable commodity. Financially and environmentally, the coffees we purchase seek balance. Premiums paid for quality far exceed fair trade premiums and afford a more sustainable, honest model. Combine our coffee philosophy and passion for exceptional coffees with our down-home Midwest hospitality and that, in a nutshell, is JBC Coffee Roasters. This stand out coffee is what happens when you couple a meticulous coffee producer with a rare coffee variety along with a unique and precise co-ferment process. Introducing our Monteblanco Purple Caturra Blueberry Co-Ferment. The blueberry and purple fruit notes in this coffee are truly off the hook! This co-fermented microlot is juicy and ultra-winey with tasting notes of blueberry (think big, big blueberry), passion fruit, blackberry, juniper, golden cherry, and hibiscus. Who should drink it? Lovers of big blueberry notes in their coffee! Lovers of identifiable fruit notes in their coffee! Purple fruit lovers! Co-ferment lovers and adventure seekers! Enjoy!

Introduing Office Hours! Sept 17 from 7:30 am to 11 am at JBC Coffee Roasters. Join us for a signature drink/espresso bev/pour over and behind-the-scenes access to JBC Coffee Roasters.

Whether you just want to stop by and snag a signature espresso drink or pour over on your way to work or if you want to hang with the JBC coffee professionals to pick our brains a bit, our brand new JBC Office Hours are a way to give you access to the backstage of our coffee roastery while snagging a specialty coffee beverage. (You're also free to purchase bags of coffee while here as well!)

A $6 ticket (available at the door or at Eventbrite) gets you:

A rare opportunity to support female coffee growers in Rwanda! This special honey process coffee was sourced solely from women-owned farms belonging to the Abadatezuka Cooperative in Rwanda’s Western Province. Each contributing female to this special microlot received additional quality-focused premiums rewarding them specifically for growing exceptional coffee. This coffee is so velvety and winey with tasting notes of lime zest, apricot rose jam, raspberry, and cinnamon graham cracker. We highly recommend this coffee for any and all lovers of fruit forward, winey cups (think a Kenyan profile with a little Rwandan flair.) It’s just a small microlot, so grab some bags while supplies last!

A new syrupy and juicy coffee from Burundi! This particular lot is part of Kibingo Washing station's microlot program where specific coffees are isolated out due to superior cup quality. Our new Kibingo Burundi embodies all that we admire about the classic Burundi profile-it's bright, juicy, and laden with complex dried tropical fruit notes. This coffee boasts tasting notes of ginger peach puree, honeycrisp apple, panela, and lemongrass. We highly recommend for lovers of Rwanda and/or Burundi coffee profiles who appreciate gingery tropical fruit notes in their morning cup. It's a great summer coffee!
