A huge, heartfelt thank you to Corinth Thrift Store in Lee for their incredible generosity today. Through their in-kind donation, we were able to provide warm winter wardrobes for two different households, including two adults and two children who were previously without proper cold-weather gear.

Because of this partnership, these families were able to shop for exactly what they needed to stay safe and warm this season. Seeing the kids get settled into cozy clothes was the highlight of our day!

Did you know? 🤔 At Hometown Outreach, every single dollar we receive is given directly back to the community. We are a local bridge for our neighbors who have been overlooked, and we operate on the belief that no one in Madison County should feel forgotten.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, every donation is 100% tax-deductible.

🕒 The Week Ahead: Why Your Support Matters

To give you an idea of the immediate need, here is what this week looks like for Hometown Outreach:

🏥 Medical Advocacy: We are scheduled to facilitate 2–3 doctor’s appointments for residents who lack the means to get there.

💊 Emergency Aid: We are purchasing life-saving prescriptions for a local family that has recently fallen on hard times.

💻 Connecting Families: We are helping a family pay their internet bill so they don't lose access to their weekly mental health appointments via Zoom—a vital resource as they work toward becoming self-sufficient.

🍎 Food Delivery: We are preparing to deliver food to 35–40 families who have no transportation to secure their own groceries.

🤝 Direct Support: We are providing a ride to a neighbor so they can secure food stamp benefits, as they have no computer or transportation to complete the process on their own.

📈 More Support = More Lives Changed

The reality is that our reach is only limited by our resources. The more donations we receive, the more help we can provide. Your support allows us to say "yes" to the next family in crisis, the next senior without food, and the next neighbor needing a ride to a life-saving appointment.

We simply cannot achieve all of this without community support—both in volunteers and donations. We rely on your generosity to keep our mission going.

Behind the closed doors of our beautiful town, some of our neighbors are facing a difficult reality. We have wonderful food pantries and stocked grocery stores, but many have no way to get to them. We have doctors, but many have no way to reach their appointments. We have homes that should be sanctuaries, but are falling into disrepair.

Our mission is simple: To bridge these gaps.

We believe that survival and health shouldn’t be a struggle you face alone. But to keep this bridge standing, we need your help. We are looking for hearts willing to give a little or a lot to ensure everyone in our community is safe, fed, and cared for.

How you can help us bridge the gap:

🍞 Food Access & Groceries: Many of our neighbors simply need a way to get to the store or the pantry. You can help by providing rides for grocery shopping or by delivering pre-packed supplies from local pantries directly to their doors.

🩺 Medical Lifelines: Provide a ride for a neighbor to reach their doctor, specialist, or pharmacy. A simple lift can be the difference between someone getting care or staying sick.

🏠 Safe Shelters: If you own a business or have trade skills, help us monitor and provide essential home repairs for those in need. We want to ensure every home is safe and functional.

📦 Survival Essentials: Help us provide the basic household items that are necessary for daily life and survival.

🕊️ Financial Support: Your one-time or monthly donations fund the logistics of this mission, ensuring no call for help goes unanswered.

Update: Another Organization reached out to us today about a family with young children that also has no heat. Does anyone have a space heater they can donate to this family? Please comment below or Dm us if you can help.

Update: a heater was purchased by a community member, is anyone going to be in Valdosta today that can pick it up and meet me in town so I can get it to her? Tonights going to be super cold and we are worried about her.

Goal met:

Words cannot express the thanks to a very generous donor in supporting this need. One of our biggest goals is to help people become self sufficient or to help keep them there. This will make all the difference for this family not only because they will be able to get back and forth to work but the worry over getting to the moms dr and medicines will be removed.

We have someone ready and willing to perform the labor for free, but we need to raise $200 for the parts to get it done.
