SHUT UP!! August’s theme is The Princess Diaries!!! 👑

Greetings from Genovia! We are pleased to invite you to a tea party hosted by our royal court, where you will be our guest of honor. It would be our delight to transform your everyday life into something extraordinary, if only for a short while. There is no need for passports or plane tickets to travel to faraway lands with our Princess Diaries inspired menu. Please rest assured that while this feast is fit for nobility, no etiquette lessons are required.

While we cannot promise you your face on a postage stamp, we can bring you three tiers of the finest delicacies Genovia has to offer. Fresh pears, cucumber-topped sandwiches, and an icy sorbet to cleanse the palette are paired with our perfectly-brewed teas. Gowns and gloves are not required, but tiaras are highly encouraged.

This menu is available from AUGUST 5th to AUGUST 30th. Please make your reservations early, lest we keep Spain and Portugal waiting.

Summer! Summer is here! July brings us sunshine, fireflies, endless blue skies, and evening fireworks. We can let our hearts guide us to the simple pleasures of life that can be found as we wander through orchards, or as we sit on the porch and catch up with good company. Hear the creak of a screen door and feel the breeze that breaks the heat of the day as we invite you to our Peach Party Afternoon Tea.

Here the delicate aroma of fresh brewed tea blends with the fresh-picked flavor of peaches. Each fresh peach is sourced locally from our neighbor Isom’s Orchard with the hope that every carefully curated tier will bring you the joy of a summer’s day with the peace and pleasure of a tree-shaded picnic.

The biggest thank you to Isom’s Orchard for letting us take our menu pictures in their incredible peach orchard! They sell locally grown produce year round from their beautiful location on Highway 72 about 2.5 miles east of I-65 in Athens,AL. You can also stop by for some of their famous slushies, jams, or honey!

How now, spirit, whither wander you? Whether you have come over hill, over dale, through brush, or through brier, take a moment now to hear our tale. It is a story of love in idleness, of honeyed words and honeyed morsels, and the promise of a sweet reverie for any who tarry among our company. Our willing troupe wishes to present a scene where reality fades into A Midnight Summer’s Dream.

Imagine a menu inspired by fancy’s flight and the beauty of a fairy court. Each tea presented to your table will be fit for a royalty and every offered morsel a delight for even the most discerning of audiences.

Join us on Sunday, June 14, 2026, for an enchanting afternoon of tea, fellowship, and giving back in support of Soroptimist’s mission of empowering women and girls through education.

June's Theme: "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
Two tea seatings are available:
• 11:00 a.m.
• 3:00 p.m.

A classic tea at Lanier Tea House lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. It includes three teas, each perfectly paired with three complementary courses of bites.
First course: Tea sandwiches and savories.
Second Course: Scones with cream and jam.
Third course: Sweets

Seating is limited to just 35 guests per tea time, so early ticket purchase is encouraged.

If you are attending with a group and would like to sit together, we strongly recommend purchasing all tickets in a single transaction. This helps us identify the size of your party and allows us to make every effort to accommodate your seating preferences.

Please note: The tea house features intimate seating areas with small tables for groups of 2, 3, or 4+. For our fundraising event Lanier House can accommodate simple allergies or vegetarian options, but they will not be offering Gluten free or Dairy free services for this event due to higher menu costs.

May is the month of flowers, picnics held in blooming strawberry fields, and the promise of good things to come. We bid you to gather with your dearest friends and companions to enjoy a moment in time with our menu inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma. Just as Emma had such confidence in her matchmaking skills, we are certain that we have created a menu that promises both delicious flavor and the elegance of a Regency-era story.

Don your best looks and most charming behavior as we propose a three-tiered triumph of sweet and savory delights. Our teas are perfectly matched and offer a chance to take in a gentler world, if only for a little while.

Our Emma-inspired menu will run from Wednesday, May 6th to Sunday, May 31st. We wish exceedingly for you to join us, lest we be parted from your good company.
