Right on the corner of Washington & Hancock, the building that houses our pub carries layers of Madison history.

This corner was once home to the Simmons Funeral Home, a longtime fixture in the building that served families here for decades. Before that, the structure traces back even further to its early-1900s roots as part of Madison’s historic commercial corridor, a space that evolved through wagon works, undertaking businesses, and generations of downtown life.

At Hart & Crown, we keep things interesting with rotating specials from both land and sea. Our “Butcher’s Cut” and “From the Sea” features give our kitchen the chance to highlight seasonal ingredients and thoughtful preparations beyond the regular menu.

Right now, our Butcher’s Cut is a hanger steak served with potato and Gruyère gratin, black truffle vinaigrette, and sautéed garlicky kale.
