Rain gear and a rainy ride down the hill this morning on Mackinac! We've gotten super lucky this week, it's been gorgeous weather even though we were forecasted for rain. It did catch up to us, though, and it's coming down pretty good this morning. It looks like we have sunshine and warmer weather headed our direction over the next week, but there's always a chance for showers (especially when you don't prepare for it) so toss a rain jacket into your suitcase if you're headed our way! 🌧️☔️🌬️

Beekeeping at the Inn at Stonecliffe! I couldn't imagine a better place to be a bee than Mackinac Island, and their setup in the orchard is frankly swanky. My husband was right, it was magical and I learned so much! These classes are only available for guests at the Inn, but the orchard is open to the public so you should check it out next time you're on the island. Thanks to beekeeper Dave for all the knowledge! 🐝🩷🌷

Car keys are not something you have to think about very often when you're on Mackinac, being that we do not have cars over here. I've forgotten mine on the island more times than I can count, and it's truly a humbling experience 😅 it was a happy ending and an easy drop-off on my way home up the hill! Thank you to the Toledo Public Library for the help, you guys rock. (Go Green! 💚🤍)

A little compilation of my week! The last two mornings I've had cookies in the oven before 5 AM and since this weekend is the last weekend of Lilac Festival here on the island, I imagine tomorrow will be the same. The sunrise was UNREAL this morning and it even came with a rainbow! The days are long but I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. A massive "thank-you" to our team who are absolute rockstars and have gone above and beyond every week, but this week especially. We appreciate you so much! 🩷🍪

5:30 AM ride into work on an island with no cars! No voiceover or intro this morning, just the birds chirping and my bike tires. We have dense fog and everything feels a little muffled and quiet, which is making me even more sleepy. What do you think, could you make this commute and live without cars?

We love an early morning Carriage Tours cookie delivery! It's a rainy day here on Mackinac, but I do love the island in the rain. Now that the cookies are safely at the barn, I only have 999,999 more tasks to check off my list before I have to leave at noon 🙃

Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night and realizing you'll be riding your bike up and down the hill a couple of times before 7 AM. Will I ever stop forgetting things downtown? Probably not 🫣 it is an absolutely spectacular morning here on the island, though, so the bike ride was gorgeous and I'm still down here in time to bake! There is something so magical about the crispy morning air on Mackinac. Off to battle the buttercream!

5 AM and I can see where I'm going! The days are much longer all of the sudden so it doesn't feel quite so hard getting out of bed early to bake cookies. I've been baking for two hours and I probably have another 5 of non-stop baking ahead of me. My navy outfit I left home in is toast, hopefully someone can run me a change of clothes down the hill 😂 buttercream: 1, me: 0

6 months!! What a ride it's been already! From snowmobiling around in the winter to being back on bikes this spring, you guys have really seen it all. Never did I imagine we would have nearly 200,000 followers on Facebook and over 130,000 on Instagram, but the most surprising part of it all has been introducing new people to Mackinac. I'm honored that you've found our little piece of Heaven through our videos, and my only hope is that I do the island justice. It's such a special place to call home and an easy one to share! Thanks to all who have joined on the journey thus far, I cannot wait to see what the next 6 months have in store 🩷

Can't stand to leave the north quite yet? Head to Hessel and check out our original store inside the showroom! Located less than a half of an hour northeast of St. Ignace, Hessel is such a fun little village to spend a few hours before heading back home. You'll find lots of classic boats docked in the harbor and our amazing cookies right inside the store. It's a great way to squeeze every moment you can out of your trip to Mackinac. See you in Hessel!
