Rosemary Napoli

Every Tuesday, our wonderful pianist Rosemary fills Indian Bites in Lyons with music—from Beethoven and Mozart to beautiful melodies from across generations.

And the little ones are part of the magic too. ❤️ If your kids want to join Rosemary, request a favorite rhyme, sing along, or simply sit and listen, they are always welcome.

Think of it as a little musical therapy for the whole family—a place to slow down, share a meal, listen, smile, and let music do what words sometimes cannot.

September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

I was in Nepal.

Thousands of miles away, watching something my mind could not comprehend happening in America.

And all I could think about was my mother.

She was here in the United States while I was in Nepal. I felt helpless—worried about her, worried about everyone, and worried about a country that had already given our family so much hope and so many dreams.

America showed us that you could come from somewhere far away, work hard, dream freely, and build a life you once could only imagine.

That day felt personal.

Not because I was born here.

But because sometimes a place becomes part of your heart long before you can call it home.

Twenty-five years later, I look at my life and realize how much this country has given me—the opportunity to work, to serve, to dream, to fall, to rise again, and most importantly, to raise my little Longmonter daughter here. ❤️

I was born on Mother Earth. 🌎

Nepal is where my journey began. 🇳🇵
America is the country I am grateful to call home. 🇺🇸

But borders never defined where I was born.

They are lines we human beings drew on the same beautiful planet that gave birth to all of us.

And on September 11, Mother Earth lost thousands of her children.

Human beings who woke up that morning with families, dreams, worries, laughter, plans and people they loved—never knowing it would be their last sunrise.

I remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders and ordinary people who ran toward another human being when every instinct must have told them to run away.

That is the humanity I choose to remember.

Because underneath our flags, borders, religions, politics, colors and all the labels we have created…

we breathe the same air.

We walk upon the same Earth.

We look toward the same sky.

And one day, we all return to the same Mother Earth.

Just stardust passing through this incredibly brief experience we call life. ✨

May we never forget the souls we lost.

May we never take another sunrise for granted.

And may we always choose humanity over division.

9/11. Never forgotten. ❤️🇺🇸🌎

My Brother, My Guardian, My Inspiration ❤️

My elder brother, Jaswant Dev Shrestha, has been much more than a brother to me. Throughout my life, he has been an inspiration, a guardian, a mentor, and someone I have always looked up to.

In 2022, I watched one of his dreams come true when his documentary work earned him an Emmy Award. 🏆 Seeing someone who has inspired and guided me throughout my own journey receive that recognition was an incredibly proud moment for our entire family.

But dreamers don’t stop dreaming.

Today, he continues pursuing his passion through filmmaking, storytelling, and his SAG endeavors.

And now our family is patiently waiting for the next dream…

Maybe one day, an Oscar. 🏆🎬✨

No pressure, Dai. 😂❤️
We’ll just be here waiting.

Until then, I would love for all my friends, family, and the beautiful souls I’ve had the privilege of connecting with to support his work:

Let us celebrate this Labor Day by appreciating something we sometimes forget—the ability to do what we love, learn what we don’t yet know, and create value through the work that supports our livelihood and our families.

For me, true contentment lies in serving others. And true bliss arrives when we are genuinely grateful for what we already have and how far we have come.

But never let what you have become today limit what you could become tomorrow.
We all had to start somewhere.

As human beings, our possibilities are infinite. There is always another skill to learn, another person to learn from, another experience to grow through, and something new to discover in this beautiful journey called life.

Remember: we are not paid simply for our time. We are paid for the value we bring to that time.
So keep learning.Keep creating.Keep serving.Keep becoming more valuable at whatever supports your livelihood and your family.

Never allow your mind to convince you that who you are today is all you can ever be.
We are not our minds.
We are stardust—with infinite possibilities. ✨

Rise up. Learn the skills. Create value. Serve others. Be grateful for this beautiful opportunity called life.
And most importantly—

Preach what you practice.
Not what you copy and paste.

Happy Labor Day to every beautiful soul out there working, learning, creating, serving, and providing for the people they love.

Mother Earth has a funny way of showing us love. ❤️🍆

A little heart, a little humor, and 100% naturally grown. Sometimes nature creates things that make you stop, smile… and look twice.

Love really does come in all shapes and sizes. ❤️🌎

Mother Earth definitely has a sense of humor. 😂🍆
No filters. No edits. Just nature showing off her curves.
Should we cook it… or frame it? 😂

😂🍆🍑

Nature never asks for our attention.
She simply waits for us to become present enough to notice.

And when we slow down… when we stop chasing the next moment and truly appreciate the one we’re standing in, nature seems to flaunt her beauty everywhere. ✨

Maybe the beauty was always there.
Maybe we finally arrived.

Be present. Be appreciative.
Mother Earth has been showing off all along.

Some souls don’t connect because they are alike.

They connect because something feels familiar beyond words.

No chasing.
No forcing.
No need to explain.

Just a quiet recognition — as if two pieces of stardust crossed an infinite universe, only to meet here, in this moment. ✨

I believe we recognize these connections most clearly when we become quiet enough to look beyond the mind — beyond society’s norms, learned habits, expectations, and the bundle of thoughts we have collected and called “I.”

The ego wants to analyze, label and understand.
The soul simply recognizes.

Maybe these connections aren’t about someone completing us. Maybe they remind us of something we already knew before our minds became crowded with ideas of who we are supposed to be.

And sometimes, we recognize the beauty of a connection only after the moment has passed.

A conversation.
A friendship.
A stranger’s kindness.
Someone who taught us something.
A soul who simply crossed our path.

Perhaps we were too caught in our thoughts to fully appreciate it at the time.

So be present.

Not every soul who crosses our path will stay forever — but may we be present enough to recognize the beauty, kindness and connection they bring while they are here. ✨
