For just about as long wh***ey has been made in Lynchburg, Miss Mary Bobo's Restaurant has been cooking up mouth-watering Southern dishes for our friends and neighbors. Your visit to Lynchburg wouldn't be complete without dropping by Miss Bobo's, where every meal is served with a warm Tennessee welcome and a glass of sweet tea (other options available). We have nine dining rooms in the house and each table seats 9-13 guests depending on table size. Meals are once again being served family-style with many guests seated around the table and a host sharing stories during lunch. Lunch is $29.95 + tax for adults and $10.95 for children age 10 or under. Monday through Friday we offer seatings at 11:00 a.m. On Saturdays, we offer seatings at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Reservations are required: www.missmarybobos.com.

Planning to be in town for "The Jack" tomorrow, October 10? Miss Mary Bobo's airstream will be set up starting at 11:00 a.m. serving favorites like fried chicken, mac & cheese, candied apples, country green beans, and fudge pie!

We have good news for our friends visiting this weekend for the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue. In addition to 'sit down' lunches on Friday and Saturday, our airstream will also be offering lunch to go on Saturday.

Stop by to say hello and pick up a meat and two or a meat and three while supplies last. We'll be selling dessert and sweet tea separately. Then drop by our Sidewalk Sale to see what we have available.

If you smell a whiff of barbecue in the air, that's because the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue (The Jack) is only a few days away! We're looking forward to seeing all our friends again this year.

If you weren't able to join us for our breakfast celebrating Jack's birthday, we have good news for you. Miss Mary Bobo's Restaurant will be hosting another Breakfast at Bobo's on the morning of Friday, October 9 at 9:00 a.m. - and we still have a few seats available!

Each table will have its own storyteller and feature breakfast favorites like country bacon, sausage, hashbrown casserole, eggs, home-made biscuits with jam, gravy, and Lynchburg candied apples paired with orange juice and Miss Mary Bobo's house coffee.

Looking for a way to make the weekend a little sweeter? We hope you'll try our recipe for Classic Chess Pie. It's a Southern favorite that pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee and a great conversation with a friend.

1 unbaked 9-inch basic pie pastry shell
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon self-rising cornmeal mix
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick) melted
3 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon Jack Daniel's Tennessee Wh***ey*

Heat your oven to 350 degrees. Prebake the pie shell for 10 minutes until set, but not browned. Combine the sugar, cornmeal, salt, butter, eggs, milk, vinegar, and wh***ey in a medium mixing bowl. Wh***ey until well-blended. Pour the filling into the pie crust. Bake 40-45 minutes until the pie filling is set. Enjoy with friends and family.

*If, like Miss Mary herself, you prefer not to use wh***ey in your baking, you can substitute vanilla or almond extract for wh***ey in this recipe.
