I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Caldwell community and surrounding areas for their support of M2M Food Enterprise, also known as “Our Roots by M2M.” Unfortunately, after more than a year of facing significant obstacles with the Caldwell County Development Department, Caldwell County Code Enforcement and District Attorney office. I have made the difficult decision to close the business. My efforts to secure a permit for a larger development have been met with continuous hurdles, resulting in a severe financial impact on the business and my health.
This decision is not one I’ve made lightly. After investing time, energy, and resources to overcome these obstacles, it has become clear that the difficulties are not merely procedural but reflect deeper issues within the county’s development processes. Like many, I am disappointed to see how challenging it is to operate in Caldwell County due to what feels like official obstruction from multiple elected officials. It’s a situation that may soon be receiving broader attention.
Moving forward, I will be selling the property and exploring opportunities in more business-friendly areas. In hindsight, perhaps I should have considered the advice of Assistant District Attorney Neil Kucera, who pointed out that it might be easier for us to run a business in another county.
Thank you to everyone who supported us through this journey. I am grateful for our time here and hope that in the future, Caldwell County becomes a more welcoming place for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Sunday November 17th will be the last day. I am only open this weekend and next weekend. Thank you Amy
