My work is one-of-a-kind Japanese pottery that embodies simplicity, functionality, and a connection to nature.

Check here often to see my pieces mid-process, and visit my webpage to see photos of the finished product (www.NantenPottery.com)! All pieces are handmade and assembled, and all glaze recipes are created and tested by Nanten Pottery founder Hironobu Nish*tateno. Each piece is stoneware and safely used in the microwave, oven, and dishwaser.

I guess I’m a couple months late to the Instagram table, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been working!! I have a few mugs and other pieces still in my Etsy shop for those of you who can’t make it to Cambridge,WI for the pottery tour this coming weekend or over Mother’s Day weekend. It’ll be great to get outside and meet with all who are just as excited to start the Art Fair season as I am!

These are a couple of my favorites at the moment! They’re both medium sized bowls with shinogi (vertically carved lines) in different widths, enticing the hands to touch! They make beautiful centerpieces as well as serving dishes, and they’re looking for the perfect new home! Check my Etsy page for details. Shipping included!

We have a few mugs in our Etsy inventory if you need something unique for that hard-to-buy someone, the artsy friend who loves to touch things, the high school babysitter who would love to feel grown up with his/her own cool mug, or yourself! Imagine the warmth of a toasty drink of choice in your hands. Mmm-mm! Shipping included!

Heads up, everyone! I realize that there are many people on my mailing list who aren’t able to get to any of my art fairs for whatever reason, so I plan to have sales from time to time via Etsy going forward. Next Friday, August 22, I’ll be having a bud vase sale, featuring more than 20 unique pieces in a variety of colors and styles! The sale will start at 10am, only one of each style will be available, and shipping will be included. Mark your calendars, set your alarms!😋💝

The Geneva Art Fair is the place to be! And despite weather reports, we’ve had nothing but a little sprinkling here and there! Come on out and join the fun! I unloaded a kiln yesterday morning, so there are lots of new pieces to peruse.😊 10-5pm today and tomorrow!

07/21/2025

Hey, all! Good news! We’re in the Geneva Art Fair this coming weekend, July 26-27! Come see us there from 10am to 5pm both days…we weren’t in the fair last year, so hopefully we’ll get to see a lot of familiar and new faces!
