WE ARE STILL OPEN! ❤️

We wanted to share a little video showing how our expansion project next door is coming along and remind everyone that VinBun is still OPEN and operating during our normal business hours! 🍜

The construction you see in this video is happening right behind our current art mural. Eventually, that wall will come down, connecting both spaces into one bigger VinBun Vietnamese Bistro & Café!

We still don’t have an exact date for our temporary closure, but we will keep everyone updated as soon as we know.

In the meantime, please continue to come in, enjoy your favorite freshly made Vietnamese dishes, and support VinBun as much as possible before we temporarily close for construction! ❤️

October is going to be a little unpredictable for us as our expansion is officially underway. We still don’t know the exact date we’ll need to temporarily close so the wall can come down and both spaces can finally become one.
But for now, we are OPEN and operating our normal business hours! 🍜🥢

Today, October 2nd, we asked for blessings as we officially begin our VinBun expansion project. ❤️🙏

Construction is starting on the left side of VinBun, behind our art mural wall. That mural has been part of VinBun for so long, but toward the end of this month, it will soon be time to say goodbye as we prepare to connect the two spaces.

For now, VinBun will continue operating as normal. Once the construction team finishes the work needed on the new café side, they will give us approximately 2–3 weeks’ notice before our current restaurant needs to temporarily close.

During that temporary closure, they will break through the wall and connect both spaces together, creating one larger home for VinBun Vietnamese Bistro & Café. ☕🍜

There is still a lot of work ahead, but today officially marks the beginning. Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey, supported our small family business, and continues to grow with us.☺️

VinBun Journey: One Last Look at Our Mural ❤️

This mural has been part of VinBun since the beginning, and it has become one of the most special pieces of our restaurant.

When it was created, our two daughters were still very little. The two little girls in the mural represent them at that time, with Vinh in the middle doing what he loves most, cooking. ❤️

Over the years, our daughters have grown, VinBun has grown, and this mural has stayed right here through it all. So many customers have sat beside it, taken pictures with it, celebrated birthdays and special moments near it, and made memories inside our restaurant.

Now it is almost time to say goodbye to this wall.
Our next-door expansion project begins October 2. As construction moves forward, this wall and mural will eventually need to come down as we connect the two spaces and prepare VinBun for its next chapter.
Our daughters are a little sad knowing the artwork of them when they were younger will be gone, and so are we. But now that they are older, they are also excited to see what our next mural will look like and what the next chapter of VinBun will bring.

We are currently planning to remain open as construction begins next door, with our temporary closure expected sometime toward the end of October. We will continue updating everyone as the construction schedule becomes clearer.

Until then, VinBun is still here and ready to serve you! ❤️

VinBun Journey: Building VinBun ❤️
After deciding in 2021 that we wanted to start this new journey together, the next step was turning an empty space and a lot of ideas into VinBun Vietnamese Bistro.
There was so much that went into getting the restaurant ready. Planning the kitchen, working on the dining room, choosing everything little by little, and trying to create a place that felt like us.
At that time, we weren’t thinking about how big VinBun could become. Our goal was simply to build a restaurant where Vinh could share his passion for Vietnamese food and where we could build something together for our two daughters and our family.
Looking back at these old videos now is pretty special because so much has changed since then. What started as an idea slowly became the VinBun that so many of you know today.
And one of our favorite parts of building VinBun was still to come... the mural that has been on our wall through so many years and memories. ❤️
With our next-door expansion project beginning October 2, we thought this was the perfect time to share some of these memories before VinBun begins changing again.

VinBun Journey: Where It All Started ❤️

Before we start sharing what’s coming next for VinBun, we wanted to take you back and share a little bit about where our journey began.
Vinh’s partnership restaurant journey started before VinBun, and that chapter came to an end in 2020.
Then came 2021, when Vinh and I decided to start a new journey together and build something of our own as a family for our two children.
Starting during the COVID period was definitely a different time for the restaurant industry. Finding the right location, putting our ideas together, and getting everything ready took a lot of patience, planning, and hard work.
At the time, I was working as a nail technician, a career and skill that I had spent years building. I eventually decided to step away from it and work alongside Vinh so we could focus on building VinBun together and creating something for our family and our two girls.
Vinh has always had a passion for cooking. Over the years, he has created so many dishes and ideas, and I wanted to help him turn that passion into something we could grow together.
Looking back at this picture brings back so many memories. When we started VinBun, we didn’t know exactly where this journey would take us. We simply wanted to create a place where we could share our Vietnamese food with the community while building something for our children and their future.
Over the years, VinBun has grown, our children have grown, and we have grown right along with it. Our customers and community have also become such an important part of our story.
Now we are preparing for another exciting chapter. Our next-door expansion project starts October 2, and little by little, we want to take you back through some of our favorite memories and show you how VinBun became what it is today.
From building the restaurant, to creating our mural, to the memories made inside these walls, there is so much we want to share before we begin this next chapter.

A bittersweet moment for Middletown ❤️

It’s honestly a little sad seeing this space empty. Red Wing has been one of the longest standing businesses here in our plaza and the only Red Wing location in Middletown for many years. So many people in our community have walked through these doors, and it definitely feels different seeing their signs come down and the store completely moved out.
Although their Middletown chapter has come to an end, Red Wing is still serving customers at their two remaining locations:

We wish the Red Wing team nothing but the best and thank them for all the years they spent here in Middletown. ❤️
At the same time, this is a very emotional and exciting moment for our VinBun family because Red Wing has officially moved out, and this space is getting ready to be passed over to VinBun! 🥹🎉
For years, VinBun has been operating from our little 1,100 square foot restaurant next door. We have dreamed about having more room to serve our customers, expand our seating, and continue growing right here in the Middletown community that has supported us from the beginning.
Soon, these empty walls will begin a completely new chapter. ❤️
There is still a lot of construction, planning, hard work, and probably a few stressful days ahead 😂, but seeing the space empty for the first time makes everything finally feel REAL.
We are sad to see a longtime Middletown business leave, but we are incredibly grateful and excited that VinBun has the opportunity to continue the story of this space.
One chapter closes, and another one is about to begin. ❤️
