Meet the Face Behind Manomanoph! 🇵🇭✨
Hey everyone! I’m Justine, 24, the heart (and hands) behind Manomanoph! I was born and raised on the small island of Cebu, Philippines, before moving to the U.S. at 14.
Growing up, I loved cooking, but my dad always said it was just a hobby and that I should be a lawyer instead… Well, I did end up serving—just not in a courtroom, but on a plate! ⚖️🍛 So, I almost went to law school (well, i stopped after achieving three academic degrees) —until I realized the only bars I wanted to pass were dessert bars! 🍰😂
My husband 👰♀️🤵♂️(who officially married into the kitchen life this year!) has been helping me build this business and has even taken on the role of sous chef—though he made it very clear that he’s not just the delivery guy! These days, he’s the one making most of the mango floats. Even though he's Mexican, his love of Filipino food has grown ever since he met me!
When I’m not cooking, I’m out surfing, traveling, camping, or off-roading. 🌊🏄♀️I can’t sit still for too long! I’m either always road-tripping or on a plane catching a flight to my next adventure. ✈️
I love island jams and reggae music because they remind me of my surfing adventures and my island home. You’ll usually catch me vibing to J Boog, Common Kings, Rebelution, and Kolohe Kai—good music, good vibes, always. 🎶🏝️
Oh, and if you ever want to chat, I speak English, Tagalog, Bisaya, and a little broken Spanish. I also used to know Mandarin when I was in a Chinese private school, but now? Let’s just say my memory of it disappeared faster than a fresh batch of lumpia at a party. 😆 🇵🇭🇲🇽
So, that’s a little about me! Thank you for being here and supporting this dream. We hope to keep growing and sharing Filipino food with every craving, every culture, and every plate. 🍛💛
