We would like to give our sincere condolences to Betty Mishoe-Conner and SHORTY's Grill . Shorty will be deeply missed. His legacy of kindness and love will live on. He was a staple of Loris. Sending all of our love and prayers.

Remembering Shorty Conner – A True Loris Legend

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a beloved member of the Loris Chamber of Commerce family and a true legend in our community, Shorty Conner.

As the proud owner of Shorty’s Grill, Shorty served up more than just good food—he served generations of Loris families with a warm smile, a kind word, and a heart full of love for this town. His restaurant was a gathering place, a staple in our community, and a reflection of the man behind it.

Shorty was also one of the biggest supporters of the Loris Lions, rarely missing a chance to cheer on our hometown team. Whether you were sitting across from him at the grill or beside him in the stands, you knew you were in the company of someone special.

While we mourn the loss of Shorty’s steady presence, we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind: one of generosity, pride in community, and unwavering spirit. He was Loris through and through—and he always will be.

Please keep the Conner family in your thoughts and prayers. We’ll miss Shorty dearly, but we’ll carry his memory forward with every Friday night light, every shared meal, and every act of kindness inspired by the man who made Loris a better place.
