Did y'all know that we have a few book authors living amongst us here in Loris? Author Becky Muth & R. A. Muth is one of our favorites here at Mattie Jane's. Becky brings readers everything from quirky cozy mysteries and sweet romance to heartwarming children’s books. Her stories are packed with small-town charm, memorable characters, a little mystery, a little love, and, appropriately enough, quite a bit of coffee. Her latest book The Trouble with Tippitiwichet is a book inspired by movie nights at the real Tippitiwichit and coffee at Mattie Jane's.

Y'all we want to give a huge thank you to the Loris Chamber of Commerce for hosting the Loris Legacy Awards last night and bringing our community together for such a fun and meaningful evening.

We also have to give some BIG congratulations to a few of our local favorites and fellow small-business family that were recognized:

*Ritchie’s General Store & Eatery - congratulations on being named Merchant of the Year! So well deserved!

*Shana Prince - thank you for everything you do for the Loris Police Department and for our community. You are an absolute rockstar, and we love you so, so much!

*District 10 Coffee Roasters - congratulations on receiving the Robert Brooks Entrepreneur Award! Getting to spend time chatting with your family was genuinely one of the highlights of our night.

*And to the entire Conner family at SHORTY's Grill - the Legacy Award could not have been more fitting. Shorty left an incredible legacy in Loris, and it’s pretty special to see your family continue carrying that legacy forward.

Greg and Morina Martin, we just adore you both. You're such a great hosting team.

Y'all tomorrow is 9/25 which is now Dolly Parton Day! It is also the 1 month anniversary of her passing. Yep, it's already been that long. So tomorrow to keep celebrating this wonderful life she lived, all of our Dolly shirts will be on sale for $9.25, we also have other Dolly goods such as bags and magnets. We're also bringing back all of our Dolly specials from the fundraiser we did. We are closing a little earlier tomorrow for a prior commitment but we will be here 7am until 1 pm.

Y’all I’ve been having a rough week. Running a business is hard. Doing it in a small town is even harder. Then something happens that smacks you back to reality as to why we do what we do. I had the sweetest lady come in that had read about our Dolly drink specials and how we donated to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in an article in the newspaper. She found her original 1972 Dolly and Porter Wagoner album and drove all the way here to gift it to me. I don’t know who or what knew that I needed it today but thank you! It all happened so fast I didn’t even get her name.
