Tomorrow (10/7) is the start of our HALLOWEENY “October All Over” menu 👻🧟‍♂️

First, the return of a favorite from last year… the Spirit Crusher! Inspired by the song by Death, from their final album “The Sound of Perseverance”, which we say is one of the best metal albums of all time. House made ginger + cinnamon syrup, beet powder, espresso & choice of milk, topped with black pepper + clove. Only available as a hot cappuccino.

Next, a new drink, The “Eternal Garden” or candy apple. Inspired by the seasonal favorite show “Over the Garden Wall”. House made apple syrup, caramel sauce (contains dairy), choice of milk & espresso. available as a cortado, cappuccino, latte, matcha or as a chai. Hot or iced.

Last, we are keeping “The Mad Farmer” around for a few more weeks. Inspired by the late, great Wendell Berry. Apple c***r + our house made chai. Great hot or iced! Just c***r is also available.

Sundays are for cozy drinks. Last day to get this round of our specials! Have no fear, we got a good batch ready for you starting on Wednesday! The “Mad Farmer” will be sticking around for a few more weeks, but the other two are gonna be replaced with some 👻Halloweeny👻 drinks! One of them is the return of a favorite from last year.

Out today, the 25th Anniversary of “Leaves Turn Inside You” by Unwound, via Numero Group. Available on black and a “ghost white” variant. This 25th anniversary edition edition has been remastered from the original analog tapes and is housed in a glorious silver foil jacket with added emboss, deboss, spot varnish, and a replica 12x24” poster.

An absolute favorite of Sophie & Jacob’s, as well as our visitors! We get asked “what’s playing?” about this album more than any other of our regular spins at Ship to Shore.

The final Unwound album to date. After a rapid fire career, releasing 6 incredible, raw post-hardcore LPs within 5 years between 93-98, Unwound took some time to make “Leaves Turn Inside You”. Recorded in a farmhouse basement at the turn of the century, using thrift store synths, old equipment, mellotron and their usual use of guitar, drums, bass & vocal, plus much more. Musically, it spans across their entire catalog while offering something that’s incredibly fresh and new, even to this day. Post-hardcore, indie rock, noise rock, post-rock, psychedelic, goth, post-punk & more are ways you can try to describe this record.

It is simply one of those albums that is hard to pinpoint because nothing really sounds or feels quite like it. Perfect for October, this album feels haunted. Not in a sinister way, it just feels like there’s a ghostly presence tucked in the recording.

This month, Ship to Shore is starting bi-weekly CRAFTING NIGHTS! Come work on projects, hang out, listen to cool music, make friends, and be creative! Basic art supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own supplies for your projects & to share. First meeting will be NEXT Friday, Oct 9th!
