Really proud of my kids, they aced these cheese soufflés….

Except for that one group who inadvertently upped the oven temperature to 500° while leaning against the stove!

I always tell them that it’s ok to fail. That I actually want them to fail. That that’s when they’ll learn the most. That I don’t grade them on the outcome of their dish, rather on the effort they put into it, their grit, their initiatives, their teamwork. And observance of the safety and sanitation rules, that’s a big one.

I remind them that the people who don’t fail are the people who don’t try.

One thing is for sure, they won’t lean on that stove anymore. Well… maybe. They’ve surprised me on so many levels!
