We're excited to share our vision for this year!

What’s good, everyone? Long time no anything. We’re way overdue for an update.

Early this morning, August 17th around 3:00 am, firefighters responded to a call that our building was on fire. The fire originated in our restaurant and has left it inoperable. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Our neighbors in the building suffered smoke damage; two cats from the vet clinic next door were picked up by animal control.

And, most importantly, no one was hurt.

Thank you LBFD for the quick response. It could’ve been a lot worse than it was.

Thank you Great Plates LB team for doing their best to coordinate meals for the seniors we were supposed to cook for this morning.

We will rebuild.

Five weeks ago
we closed to take some needed rest and doing some light renovations. But that very same week we started our break, we were called to do something bigger. To feed our community.

Between the dozens of Filipino immigrant families, seniors, and direct requests for food assistance, our kitchen has now ramped up to safely prepare over 1000 meals a week.

And, man, believe me when I say there were growing pains for Bebot Community Kitchen. But we did it. Together. So I’d like to give thanks:

THANK YOU for sponsoring over 3000 of these meals.

THANK YOU /BCR for helping us get the meals where they need to go

THANK YOU to each and every one of you who has shared our story, volunteered or donated to our Community Kitchen, and supported the restaurant since March

And last but not least:

THANK YOU to our Bebot team, who has held it DOWN during an unprecedented time. Working not only for the business but for social good; there’s a lot of care that goes into our meals from planning menus to nutritional considerations. Our staff is ESSENTIAL in every sense of the word.

Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.

~

I know we’ve been pretty quiet on social media, so i’ll leave you with these small reminders: support your local small businesses, take action for what’s right, and please please please take care of your SELF.

And if you want to see Bebot Community Kitchen continue its work, any donation made to our gofundme helps us have the resources (link in bio .filipinofood)

And lastly, if you or anyone else you know needs something to eat, please send them our way. We want to make sure you’re all

Can you believe it's been a year since our Kickstarter was successfully funded?! Thank you once again to all our supporters, backers, and team who have brought us this far!
We're still closed to the public but still feeding thousands a week through Bebot Community Kitchen. Stay tuned for our reopen date and new menu announcements!

1 YEAR KICKSTARTER ANNIVERSARY
Since deciding to open a restaurant, I've lost my eloquence. The feelings I've had in this chapter of my life are bigger than words. I literally don't know how to say what I want to say... But I can't just let another important memory go by without saying anything so here it goes...
The past year has been full of wins and losses, growth and pruning, and struggle--lots of it. That's not to say we aren't winning. Because in the face of everything, there's good happening here. We pivoted to focus on social justice and our contributions to the community and will continue to do so.
Thank you to everyone who made mine and my dad's dream come true. You know who you are. Know that my gratitude is bigger than anything I could ever say to you...
Thank you for showing us you wanted us to do the damn thing. And we'll do our best to do the best for you as long as we're here.
I hope I get my voice back soon: I've got a lot to say to you all. And there's a lot of work to be done. But until I do, I'll just let our work speak for itself.

A business that only looks at its profitablility is not what we are; we want to create long-lasting change and influence lives for the better for ourselves, our employees, and our community.
But to do that! We need a break. We'll see you soon!
(Our Bebot Community Kitchen will still be operating as needed; restaurant service return date is TBD)
