As we go into this weekend, we the employees of Frosted Flour would like to share that our boss, Elisa Hassett is doing well after donating her kidney to a complete stranger! Thank you to everyone who has reached out to ask how she's doing.
She has once again proven how incredible she is as a human being! While we work with her every day, many of you only see her smiling face when you come to grab cupcakes, or order your wedding cake or some other sweet treat! She is a kind and giving person who has always supported the community. And now, she has given someone a second chance at life! Someone she doesn't know. Someone whose significant other, parents, children, brothers, sisters and friends will have more time on this earth because of Elisa's kindness!
We often take for granted the life we have! Sometimes even checking the box to be an organ donor after we pass is an afterthought! Organ donation means so much to the person receiving the organ, and likely even more to their families and friends! Just think, what if your spouse or child needed a kidney for survival? You would do anything you could to save them, right??? Yet, Elisa did this for a total stranger because she had TWO, and for her, it was the right thing to do!
Please consider living organ donation! You too can be someone's HERO! You too can save a life! There are many organizations that can give you more information. Just search "living organ donation" on Google or Facebook, or check www.organdonor.gov for more info! When Elisa's back in the next week or so, stop in and say "Hi!". Ask her about her experience! You might decide you want to be a living organ donor! You might just save a life and become someone's HERO too! ❤️
