What separates professionals from amateurs is what happens when nobody is watching.
This is the heart of Sweet 220.
No filters. No staged photos. No shortcuts.
Just a spotless kitchen, organized workstations, disciplined systems, and nearly two decades of standards that refuse to bend.
I was taught from a very young age that cleanliness is not something you do when the health inspector is coming. It's who you are every single day.
Because a clean kitchen creates a clear mind.
A clear mind creates consistency.
Consistency creates quality.
And quality creates trust.
After 24 years as a pastry chef and 18 years building Sweet 220 from the ground up, I can tell you this:
You cannot produce elite products in a chaotic environment.
The cakes. The cupcakes. The cheesecakes. The pies.

Not with frosting. Not with sprinkles.
With discipline.

Two kids with a dream, a small bakery, and more faith than money.
Since then we’ve lived an entire lifetime behind these counters together.
The loss of parents.
The loss of a sibling.
The birth of our son Gabriel.
Economic crashes.
Covid.
Inflation.
18 hour days.
90 hour weeks.
Days we questioned everything.
Days we had no idea how we’d keep pushing forward.
But one thing never changed…
WE NEVER LEFT EACH OTHER’S SIDE.
For 18 years we’ve built Sweet 220 together from the ground up with our own hands, our own sacrifices, our own tears, and our own belief in family, community, and God.
And somehow after all these years…
we’re not tired of the dream.
We’re stronger than ever.
Bolder than ever.
More confident than ever.
Still the same simple people.
Still giving back every chance we get.
Still treating customers like family.
Still pouring our hearts into every cupcake, every cake, every interaction.
This bakery is more than dessert.
It’s our life story.

Come to find out… she is the wife of Madonna University Football Head Coach Coach Guminsky — and my first cousin actually plays for them and happens to be one of their favorite players on the team. Small world 😭🙏
And if that wasn’t enough… tomorrow is also their 4 year wedding anniversary ❤️🎉
