Art Monkey is excited to be working with Fishhawk Creek Elementary PTA for National Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day this Wednesday, October 7th!

⏰ The party starts at 6:45 AM!
We’ll have music, lights & fun before everyone walks, bikes and rolls to school!

☕ Art Monkey will be OPEN with coffee, lattes, iced lattes and hot chocolate!

And remember to roll safely:

There’s been a lot said over the years about teens hanging out in Park Square, and some of it hasn’t always been positive. I can’t really speak to what it was like years ago, but after being here every day for the last two years, I can speak to what we’re seeing now.

And lately, Park Square feels like Park Square is supposed to feel. ❤️

There are 5- and 6-year-olds playing in the splash pad, tiny little ones running around on the turf, and at the same time, middle schoolers are playing volleyball, tossing a ball around, sitting at the tables talking and laughing with their friends, and stopping into Art Monkey for a lemonade or an ice cream.

And they’re just being kids.

It’s actually pretty remarkable to stand here and watch all of those different ages sharing the same space and enjoying their community together.

For a long time, a small handful of kids may have given Park Square a reputation that didn’t represent the majority. What we’re seeing now are TONS of really good kids hanging out here — exactly the way it should be.

Kids need places where they can safely meet their friends, get outside, play, laugh, grab an ice cream, and have a little independence while still being surrounded by their community.

It feels really good to see Park Square being that place again. ❤️

🎨🍪 We tried something new at Art Monkey today… COOKIE PAINTING! And this was WAY too much fun!

We turned sugar cookies into tiny edible canvases and painted them with edible watercolors. Kids of all ages — and plenty of adults — picked their colors and turned their cookies into their own little edible works of art. ❤️💙💛

And LOOK AT THESE COOKIES! 😍

It’s the perfect Art Monkey combination: a little creativity, a lot of fun, and a masterpiece you can eat when you’re done! 🎨🍪😋

Today was our first little test run, but after seeing how much fun everyone had, we’re thinking Cookie Painting at Art Monkey might need to officially become a thing!

And with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas coming up… just imagine the possibilities! 👻🎃🦃🎄 These would be SO much fun for class parties, holiday get-togethers, birthday parties, and more! 🍪🎨
