A little farm stand heads-up for tomorrow…

There’s a chance the farm stand may not be open tomorrow — and honestly, I hope you’ll understand why. 😂

I was given the opportunity of TWO FREE TICKETS to see Zach Bryan tonight. And when I say I have wanted to see him live since the very first day I heard his music… I mean that with all of my being

Sometimes an opportunity comes along that you just have to take. So, I’m taking it. ❤️ and allowing myself to have a moment to breathe

I’ll update everyone tomorrow morning and let you know for sure whether the stand will be open. If not, just know I was probably somewhere singing my heart out and living out a little bucket-list dream. 🤠

Thank you for always supporting this little one-woman farm stand — even when I occasionally choose a concert over baking bread. 🩷

🚨 BREAKING: Maine Farmers and Fishermen Are Speaking Out
Working people across Maine are saying they are feeling the squeeze as rising operational costs, foreign imports of food and seafood, water quality concerns, and growing pressure on working lands and waterfronts continue creating challenges for local agriculture and fisheries.
Many Maine producers are urging the public to support local and buy food grown on Maine farmland or harvested from Maine waters instead of relying heavily on products shipped in from overseas. At the same time, concerns are growing over large development projects and the possibility of valuable agricultural land and working waterfronts being lost to expanding infrastructure and alternative land uses.
One Maine producer stated:
“People don't realize how fast farmland and working waterfront access can disappear once it's gone. We need to protect the farmers and fishermen who are still here providing for us.”
Maine may be known for its rocky coast and deep woods, but agriculture and fishing remain a vital part of the state’s identity and economy—from the potato fields of Aroostook County and the blueberry barrens of Down East to the dairy farms, orchards, and the fishing communities all along the coast.
Now, Maine’s farmers and fishermen are speaking out and want their voices heard:
🌲 Support Maine farmers and fishermen.
💧 Protect Maine water, farmland, and working waterfronts.
🦞 Buy Maine-grown and Maine-harvested food when you can.
Protect Maine’s food systems before more working land and waterfront disappears for good.

This is honestly crazy to me. 🥹

I recently came across the news about this property and, knowing its history, I couldn’t just scroll past it.

I’ve already reached out to Maine Farmland Trust in hopes of learning more about what might be possible to preserve this land as FARM / AGRICULTURAL land rather than seeing it become another development.

A dream? To see that stand back up and running just like it used to when I was a kid — the place to get your pumpkins, your fresh vegetables, eggs, and (maybe someday)your sourdough, of course. 😉🌾

I don’t know yet what is possible, or where this will lead. But I do know that I would love to see this land continue being used for what it was built for: agriculture, food, farming, and community.

So for now, I’m asking questions, making calls, and seeing what might be possible.🫣👀🩷

Who knows? Maybe a crazy little dream isn’t so crazy when enough people believe in it.

You know what’s crazy to wrap my head around? Just this year(that isn’t even over yet)I have baked roughly 1950 loaves of bread(we are going low with that number cause I have definitely thrown away some oops loaves). And that’s amazing to think what I never thought would be where it is today- on slow weeks I’m baking roughly 50-70 loaves per week, not including any other products I regularly bake🥹
To everyone who said “you can’t make a living making bread” this one’s for you. I’m doing great over here- my son n I are happy, healthy, and safe. And still crushing it, I have all of you to thank. 🩷
