What does a bookstore owner do on her day off?

So far: eat an apple, hang out with Gretchen, and read a book.

Turns out I’m an extremely exciting person when you remove me from the bookstore. 😂

But after a busy week of books, boxes, customers, events, social media, and general bookstore chaos, sometimes a quiet day is exactly what I need.

So today I’m off the clock.

Mostly.

Probably.

We’ll see how long that lasts. 📚🍎🐾

A softer, quieter bookstore experience for anyone who prefers less sensory input while they browse.

Even highly trained bookstore professionals require adequate rest.

Today, Sir Wigglesworth is off duty.

No greeting customers.
No supervising the books.
No maintaining bookstore security.
No looking devastatingly handsome while doing absolutely nothing.

His schedule for the day includes:

🐶 Napping
🐶 Snacks
🐶 Following his humans around for no apparent reason
🐶 Possibly going outside, then immediately wanting back inside
🐶 Further napping
🐶 Refusing to answer work-related emails

He will return to Bruyere Books & Tea after his regularly scheduled day of being Just A Dog™.

Please respect his work-life balance. 😂

Management has been informed that belly rubs do not constitute overtime. 🐾📚

Books I Will Not Shut Up About. If you ask me for a fantasy recommendation, there’s a very good chance I’m going to put Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey in your hands. I have loved this series for YEARS. Political intrigue. Spies. Betrayal. Assassins. Romance. And Phèdre, a heroine unlike just about anyone else you’ll meet in fantasy. And the best/worst part? Kushiel’s Dart is only the beginning. 😈
