The Concept

Traditionally, a Japanese Izakaya restaurant is a casual pub featuring small, shareable plates. Often referred to as a “Japanese drinking restaurant,” an Izakaya is the perfect place to meet friends and loved ones for a delicious meal after a long workday.

At Bakuto, we have embraced the Izakaya concept as much as possible. Fans of this style of establishment will be pleased to find traditional menu items such as:

Of course, we needed to add our own flare as well. When you dine in-house, you’ll hear our carefully crafted music playlist comprised of fun rock n’ roll and punk rock from the 1960’s onward.

The Design

Our commitment to the traditional Izakaya experience doesn’t end with our food and drinks.

We engaged with PartiHaus Design Studio to develop a floor plan that fits with the style you would find at most Japanese Pubs. From the banquette seating to our open kitchen design, you can expect an authentic Japanese dining experience.

Our gorgeous wallpaper was created by Matt Beckerich of Fountainhead Tattoo Shop. Matt generously took the time to understand our vision and his results were flawless.

The Community

We are honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the revitalization of The Village of Lindenhurst. Since the day we arrived, the Village’s representatives and employees have gone above-and-beyond to help us make Bakuto a reality. From guiding us through all of the necessary permits and applications, to showing their support by coming in for dinner; we are humbled by their generosity.

There’s a lot to be excited about in Lindenhurst, NY. Over the upcoming months and years, you can expect to see a variety of craft breweries, restaurants, cocktail bars, coffee & sweet shops as well as other entertainment for the entire family!

The Team

We are:

Zachary Rude - Executive Chef: Zachary grew up in his parents restaurant, and has been a professional chef for 15 years. He has worked under multiple James Beard award winners from Manhattan to the North Fork. He also serves as the Executive chef and partner of the popular Verde Kitchen and Cocktails. He uses these experiences to craft an exciting Izakaya menu based on traditional Japanese dishes.

Rachel Voges - General Manager: Rachel started her restaurant career at the age of 13, working every position from hostess to general manager. From Molly Malone’s to Tellers Steak House, the Lakehouse to Verde she has had a hand in every type of service whether it be casual or formal. Her passion for food and hospitality led her to becoming a partner at Bakuto.

Patrick Capellini - Bar Manager: Patrick brings his years of experience behind the bar to Bakuto to develop a bar program at a level that Long Island has yet to see. From carefully crafted cocktails to a wonderfully curated spirits list, Patrick has ensured a variety of unique options for our guests.

Vincent D’Eletto - Business Director: Vincent brings over a decade of digital marketing and business management experience to Bakuto. He is responsible for all marketing & business activities, as well as Catering & Events.
