We have made the difficult decision to end the Back Paddle journey this week. While this year’s economic impacts proved difficult prior to the storm, we remained hopeful that we'd finish 2024 our strong and enter 2025 ready to kick butt.

Unfortunately, the storm cut power to our facility long enough for our beer to go bad (we gave away what food we could).

Recovery would take weeks of additional closure plus costs that we just aren’t able to cover.

This does not change our commitment or love for our community here in Lincoln County and beyond.

We can’t thank our community enough for four amazing years.

Please keep our staff in your thoughts, they are all amazing.

We want to thank the people of Cleveland, GA and White County again for the aid donations. We were able to distribute over 1,000 meals to nearly 500 residents.

Special thanks go out to the team at Soap Creek Marina, Lincoln County High School Senior Beta, the UGA Ag Extension and so so many more people for all of the help.

Hope everyone is safe in the aftermath of Helene… after lots of clearing of trees we made our way over to the brewery to assess… we are very thankful that we had little damage and mostly just a little flooding. Most of the region is with out power. We will remain closed today and will just take it day by day. Check on your people and hit up Kyle or I if yall need anything! 🩷🍻

Back Paddle Brewing

Back Paddle Brewing is close to 15 yrs of planning and dreaming coming to reality. Owner, Kyle McCloud is a Navy veteran with a passion for great food and great beer. Eleven years of active duty took Kyle all over the world, and where there are sailors, there’s beer. Tasting beer around the world, coupled with hobby brewing and a brief stint in culinary school, ignited a fire that is finally coming to fruition with the creation of Back Paddle Brewing. We tentatively plan to open by July 4th 2019, so be on the lookout for an ever revolving line up of locally sourced food and quality, eclectic beers.
