Hi everyone—many of you know Chris Donner, owner of Game Over Arcade in Lincoln City. Tragically, a devastating fire severely damaged both his home and business. Thankfully, Chris, his partner Jen, and their children Bree and Jack all made it out safely, and because the arcade was open at the time, all patrons and employees were safely evacuated with no injuries. Chris and Jen are military veterans who have spent over 10 years building Game Over Arcade into a beloved community space, always giving back and showing up for Lincoln City. As we’ve learned from past fires, insurance rarely covers everything—especially when a home and small business are combined—so now it’s our turn to help. To Our Friends and Guests,

Hello everybody—We gathered here at the Grill one last time. It feels bittersweet to say this, but Wes, our family, and I want to thank each of you for the incredible memories we’ve shared.

You stood by us through hard times—like the devastating fires, the challenges of COVID, and more—and the moments we’ve created together are truly priceless.

With that in mind, we want to share that Sunday, September 14, 2025, was our final day of service. Today we locked the door for the last time, and the Grill is now permanently closed.

The building and the house are still for sale. Because the restaurant will no longer include the business, the price on the restaurant property will be reduced. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Taylor & Taylor Realty, Team Regan for more information.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting our crew, our family, and this dream. We feel deeply blessed and honored to have been part of your lives.

Community Message

Last night a threat of violence at the Lincoln City Cultural Center shook our community. Hearts were broken and the dreams of many young people were disrupted—and that is not okay.

We may be a small town, but we are strong. Our friends and families deserve to feel safe.

Patrick, when I hugged you I said, “Don’t let your voice be silenced.” I meant it. Your heart and music carry a message that must be heard. Don’t ever let anyone extinguish that flame. Our family is keeping you, and everyone affected by this traumatic event, in our thoughts and prayers.

Thank you to the Lincoln City Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, and North Lincoln Fire & Rescue. Your immediate, coordinated response protected everyone and prevented further harm. We are deeply grateful for your dedication.

We’re so grateful for the incredible team that came together to make today possible. Huge thanks to Madiao, Wesley, Lilly, Ricky, Sam, and everyone who showed up and helped get the place cleaned up and ready to reopen. We’re honestly overwhelmed by all the love, messages, and support you’ve sent our way—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It means the world to us.

So many of you have asked how you can support us, and the truth is, the best way is simply by continuing to be our guests. Come in for lunch or dinner when it works for you. Spend some time with us. Let us know you’re still standing with us—that’s what keeps us going.

Thank You So Much

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who reached out—your messages truly meant a lot. We were very lucky that today was our day off and no one was at the restaurant when a small fire broke out. It started in the base of one of the fridges at The Grill 1646, but thankfully it was caught quickly.

I can’t stress enough how important it is not to cut corners when it comes to safety. Our security system and cameras alerted me right away, and I was able to get to the restaurant within minutes.

A huge thank you to North Lincoln Fire & Rescue, Northwest Natural Gas, and Pacific Power for your fast and incredible response. We’re so grateful.

As soon as utilities are restored, we’ll start cleaning up and are hoping to reopen tomorrow morning.
