Hello everyone! As Jay-Z said, elevation demands evolution, and it’s time for an evolution for the Daughters’ Southern fam.
I (Chef Cain), have decided it’s time to change the way Daughters’ Southern is run as I pursue a new career path. I started cooking at the Holiday Inn with my dad when I was fourteen years old. I’m the son of a chef, who loved feeding people and bringing happiness to them through service and that is a passion I’ve carried with me my whole life. I have decided to persue an opportunity in the hotel industry that I am very excited about.
This is not a change I was forced to make. I wanted to make this change for me and for my family. This opportunity will allow me to keep more regular hours throughout the year and give me opportunities to travel with my family and friends.
We have had a great run over these past 10 years; from our early days setting up our tent at the Noli night market, to surviving COVID restrictions, and some really fun trivia nights and drag brunches at The Void. I would like to say thank you for supporting us every step of the way. It’s you, our customers and partners in this crazy food industry, that feed our soul and have given is such an amazing community to be part of.
We also want you to know we aren’t going away completely, we will just be transitioning to private events like weddings, birthday parties and rehearsal dinners and we’ll be honoring our commitments in October and the spring. We will also do our best to attend a few public events throughout the year with our partnerships with Parks and Rec and the good folks at Gatton Park; maybe a drag brunch or two with my friends at The Void. Once again please allow me to say thank you. It really has meant the world to me to see so many people support us and enjoy our food. It was my dream to have one of the best food trucks in Lexington and I think we achieved that goal. We will attach the public schedule for this month so you can get your fix of buffalo cauliflower and white chocolate banana pudding before we take our break for the season.
