Throw Back Thursday. Somehow this was 7 years ago? Here we were at our first running on no sleep, caffeine and adrenaline. We’d chosen the name Southland Bagel before we’d even found our home on Southland Drive. We knew that’s where we wanted to end up. But we started it all at so big shout out to and that crew for putting up with us. This particular day was below freezing. We sliced our fingers and some bagels. The coffee makers kept blowing breakers. And a lot of friends and family showed up that day to support us. That would continue and we made a lot of new friends at those farmers markets too. It would be less than 6 months to opening our doors after a Kickstarter campaign, construction, delays, problem solving, learning as we went, a lot of laughing, a little yelling, countless sleepless nights and working multiple jobs to weave it all together. Thousands and thousands of bagels later, we’re here. We feel like we’ve done the impossible. And that makes us mighty. We’ve made mistakes and won some victories. We’ve learned some things too. One of those lessons being that the time is going to go by either way. So here we are. Your friendly neighborhood bagel dealers telling you to DO. THE. DAMN. THING. Whatever it is. Go get it. Support your local dreamers and makers, y’all. Now more than ever. We’re all in this together. Let’s share some bagels while we’re here.
