Happy Mid-Autumn Moon Festival! 🌝🌝🌝
One of the biggest holidays in China, this year the special celebration falls on September 25th (the 15th day of the Chinese calendar’s 8th month).
This holiday is a reunion time for families (similar to Thanksgiving), and it is celebrated by gathering together for dinners, admiring the brightest full moon of the year, lighting paper lanterns, and eating moon cakes🥮— yum!
The Mid-Autumn Festival dates back over 3,000 years. People used to worship the moon to give thanks for the harvest and to encourage the “harvest-giving light” to return again in the coming year.
The holiday also celebrates the famous legend of the moon goddess, Chang’e, who floated up to the moon after drinking an elixir of immortality. The Jade Rabbit is said to be her devoted companion on the moon. 🐇

Over the weekend, Bo Lings got to be a part of Treads and Threads! This is a black-tie charity event at the Kansas Speedway that we look forward to every year. Although heavy rain and lightning proved to be a bit of an obstacle, everything worked out just fine in the end.😅🙏
The event raised over $2.4 million to expand patient services at The University of Kansas Cancer Center. 🙌🙌 With all the samplings of delicious dishes from KC’s top restaurants, caterers, and dessert specialists, as well as live music and dancing, this party makes for a really fun way to support a wonderful and meaningful cause. ❤️‍🩹

Bo Lings catered at a beautiful wedding this past weekend! 💍💘😍 We were a bit too busy providing food for 200 guests to get pictures of all the dishes, but the menu included: Seafood Delight Soup, Steamed Pork Buns, Cantonese Roast Duck, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Lobster with Ginger and Scallion, Egg Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef, Mixed Chinese Vegetables, Beef Chow Fun, and Fresh Fruit.😋🤤 The gorgeous venue did not have a full-service kitchen, so we set up our own outside. What can we say— we do our best to accommodate and cater to our clients’ needs! Especially on their very special day—congrats to the happy couple! 🫶💞
