Hello everyone in the pantry! I’ve had some friends tell me I should share a little bit about myself and how I ended up here making pasta. So if you’re in for a long ramble please enjoy reading about the mama in the pantry!

Hello my name is Jasmine Reeves. I am a new mother of my daughter Cordelia Reeves. My husband (Roscoe Reeves) has grown up on an eighth generation family farm nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Leicester North Carolina. The Reeves Home Place farm is home to three separate businesses Cornelia’s Place 1860 an event center, Sweet Annie’s Bake Shop, and now Back Porch Pantry. While enjoying my life as a new stay at home mom I developed a deep love for food as my daughter has become of age to try new foods. During this process I’ve discovered all of the additives and harmful dyes in beloved childhood foods. I wanted my daughter to enjoy the magic of food and the beauty that comes with it. Though, I personally eat with my fork instead of my eyes, I know children especially are in tune with the beauty of food and all of the color variety that comes with it. I wanted a good wholesome food that was both nutritious and beautiful. So with my spare time I got to work making small batches of pasta and falling in love with the craft. After lots of trials and even more errors I finally found my signature flavors and colors using farm fresh ingredients. With the encouragement of my family I decided to share my product with consumers of local farmers markets in my community, and have found a deeper connection to my community in doing so. With this newfound love my business was born. My dream is to continue making my pasta creations and enjoying motherhood from the comfort of our family farm. 💛🍝
