Tips for the weather changes.

Its starting to cool off and I am sure some have seen their birds starting to Molt. Here are some things to remember during this time of year.
1. Your birds need alot of energy during cooler months to help keep warm and Regrow there feathers before the real cold comes in the following months. REMEMBER to feed your birds a well balanced feed. Start with a min 18% Protein feed. But also make sure that other things like Fats and Calorie content is also a bit higher to help them stay warm and get over a molt faster and keep egg production up. Feeding 16% feeds just make your birds take longer to go through the molt process and slow egg production down.
2. Now is a great time to treat your birds for things like Mites, lice etc. with cooler temps setting in Rodents are looking for warmer places to hide like in some bedding or in a nice warm coop. Rodents and a major carrier of things like Mites and lice So Eliminating Rodents and treating your flock this time of year is best.
3. Keeping moisture out of your coops and runs. With cooler temps setting in and Molting season here its important to cut out moisture in your coops and runs if possible. Help them stay warm and dry so that they can get through this season easier. Those that do the deep bedding method Now is the time to flip and add dry bedding to your coops. Flip the wet stuff so it dries out while adding more dry bedding to help dry it out and help keep them warmer.
4. Add things like sunflower seeds to their daily feed. Ferment their feed. This is more nutritious for them and it makes it easier for them to digest the feed.

Just a few easy and simple things to do to help your feathered friends get through this season easier. They will thank you for making there lives easier Im sure!

Happy Chicken Keeping.

I have been getting a lot of questions about when I will be switching over to the winter line of feed.

There is a possibility that we will not be switching over to a winter line due to the fact that we added Milo into the summer line. I am waiting to get some test results back from the state and My nutritionist to make the final call. But Either way temps still look good thru November 1st so At the earliest we would not switch over until November 1st this year.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Due to the mill still short on workers due to sickness I will only have Bobs layer summer crumble available for the beginning of this week. I will also be limiting to 2 bags per pick up. I am hoping to be able to pick up a large load by weds but only time will tell.

I will be going through messages shortly to schedule pick ups tomorrow evening and Tuesday evening. Again hopefully I can get a large load by mid week.

09/10/2026

Good Morning.

Now that vacation is coming to an end later today I started getting my orders together to send to the Mill for restock. In saying this it un fortunately looks like I will not be restocked on alot until Early next week.

I will do a pick up of my Bobs Summer feed in crumble ONLY tomorrow Evening. This is about 18 bags. I will schedule for Friday evening pick up for those bags later today. I will NOT have pick ups this weekend! Monday will be my next Pick ups after Friday. In order to help restock as many people as possible id like to limit pick ups to 2 bags until I can have the mill bag more and get caught back up.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but I have a ton of catching up to do at home and at work the next few days.
