I’ve seen a lot of negativity surrounding the fact that Feisty was closed on Mother’s Day by certain people, and I feel it’s important to share why. I decided to close that day because of my high risk pregnancy and being very close to delivery. I felt I would do an injustice to that day had we been open. That morning, I went into early labor. As a small business owner, I pour everything I have into this restaurant, but in that moment and week my health and my baby had to come first, especially since I have experienced a significant loss in a previous pregnancy at full term.

I understand people have other businesses to run and my closure may have affected that, but the comments and criticism have been incredibly hurtful during what should be a joyful and emotional time for my family. Small businesses are run by real people with real lives, real families, and sometimes unexpected emergencies happen.

That being said, we appreciate every single person who continues to support us. Tonight, if you choose to eat at Feisty instead of attending the “pot luck” being served as a vindictive response to my closure, save your receipt and receive a FREE dessert any day during the month of June with the purchase of at least one entrée tonight.

Thank you to everyone who has shown kindness, understanding, and support. It truly means more than you know. ❤️
