Breaking: MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred removed Pete Rose, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and other deceased players from Major League Baseball’s permanently ineligible list.

Manfred ruled that MLB’s punishment of banned individuals ends upon their deaths. They are now presumably eligible for election into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ashlee. She was a good Friend to many, a server to all and most importantly a part of our Family here at Takis. This has hit some of us quite hard so if you see us a little out of sorts for a little while, please understand that we are in mourning. She leaves behind her fiancé who is also a part of our Family here at Takis and two kids. You will be so missed Ashlee. Thank you God for the time we had with her and for giving her some joy in her final years. May her memory be eternal.

Although today is the designated day to commemorate our Veterans, at Takis Restaurant The Original, we are grateful for them everyday of the year. We are the land of the free because of the brave. Thank you is not enough. Happy Veterans day from all of us at Takis in Leesburg.

For those of you that may not know, Apopka High School is putting on their inaugural Orange Blossom Jazz Festival at the Apopka Amphitheater with schools from around the state performing starting at 10:40a.m. until 8p.m. The headliners will be the UCF Jazz band at 6p.m. and the UNF Jazz band at 7p.m. We will have merchandise, concessions with burgers, hot dogs, bbq, popcorn and more and of course cool Jazz to listen to throughout the day. Be sure to stop by and support the programs. It is free admission all day. Feel free to share this with Friends and Family or anyone that is a lover of music, Jazz or just the arts overall.

Today we celebrate our Greek Independence Day. Our country is rich in history and has given so much to the world from Democracy, philosophy, mathematics, astronomy, medicine, Greek Mythology and so much more. There was a time that we were under the rule of the Ottoman empire until the start of our revolution in 1821. Today we honor the anniversary of that day which resulted in our independence. Ελευθερία ή θάνατος! Give me liberty or give me death!
