We had the pleasure of knowing and serving Joaquin for many years. He was a joy to serve from our little window on Front St. especially through the COVID shutdowns. He became an (almost) daily regular when we moved Argonaut to our current location on Highway 2.

Knowing and serving our community with kindness is our mission but sometimes there are customers that seem to be on a mission to see us and spread authentic kindness back to us. Joaquin was one of those customers. We are all devastated to lose him way too soon. Joaquin had such a sweet soul. He’d come in with his silly grin and ask for a cortado, always a cortado. How I wish I could make him one more cortado. Oh man buddy, just one more for the road?

We are going to be donating 25% of sales tomorrow (Friday May 1) to the Go Fund Me set up to support his son Kellen. Please come, stop by and cheers Joaquin with us. We will miss him dearly.

Argonaut & Lupine Staff Day was so much fun! We appreciate your understanding with us being closed today. It is such a nice and special thing to intentionally spend a day together. This year, we did the escape room in Leavenworth! What a hoot. 😅Don’t worry, we got out! So honored to work with these lovely humans. What a joy to play around for a day.

Overview:
Be a part of something exciting! Opening Saturday November 1st, we are looking for people to join our team who are enthusiastic about good, honest food and who care about each other and their community. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, contributing to meal preparation from scratch and food service excellence. The ideal candidate will have a background in food handling and preparation, with an eagerness in maintaining high standards of food quality. To start, Lupine’s cafe will be open from 8am-4pm. We will serve breakfast and lunch, espresso drinks as well as wine & beer. Be aware that you need to be available for weekends and holidays!

Responsibilities:
-Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and menus
-Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to food safety guidelines
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
-Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during peak service times
-Handle food items with care, utilizing proper knife skills and cooking techniques
-Provide exceptional food service to guests, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable

Skills
-Previous experience in a food establishment: working in kitchens, preparing food, cooking, familiarity with food service operations and handling practices is preferred
-Excellent knife skills and knowledge of various cooking methods
-Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a clean kitchen environment
-Ability to work efficiently under pressure
-Community and team oriented

This one hits close to home, literally. Our hearts are with anyone evacuated up Blewett and in the surrounding areas. We own a home at the bottom of Camas and it’s really scary for us and all of our neighbors. We really appreciate the work of the firefighters and crew doing what they can but the winds are really intense. We’re going to be offering a discount to all firefighters and crew for 30% off all food and beverages. Thank you firefighters!
