The Sugar Bowl Collection Small-batch tea crafted for quiet moments and meaningful gifting.

Our first day at sea.

After flying into Boston right behind a nor’easter, we finally set sail along the New England coast.
No blue skies or sparkling sunshine. Just rolling waves, gray skies, and fog so thick the horizon seemed to disappear.
It wasn’t quite the picture-perfect beginning I had imagined. But standing there, watching the ocean disappear into the mist, I found something beautiful about it.
Sometimes the most memorable moments aren’t the ones we planned.
And little did I know just how much this journey would inspire me.

More from our New England and Atlantic Canada adventure to come.

The Sugar Bowl Collection — Stories in a Cup.

We flew into Boston right behind a Nor’easter.

Not exactly how I pictured the beginning of our New England and Atlantic Canada adventure.

But then came the morning mist, working harbours, fishing boats, lighthouses, rocky coastlines—and some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen.

And, because apparently I can’t go anywhere without thinking about tea, I started noticing flavors too. Wild blueberries in Maine. Maple in Canada.

Somewhere along the way, an idea began to take shape.

I came home with hundreds of photographs, so many memories, and a new story I wanted to put into a cup.

A year ago, we were standing along the Oregon coast, breathing in the salty air and watching the waves roll in.

Some places stay with you long after you leave. The misty mornings, rugged shoreline, and peaceful rhythm of the ocean still feel close enough to touch.

Until we return, I’ll keep revisiting those memories, one cup at a time.

Sometimes the best way to refill your cup is to step away for the day. 🌿

A scenic drive, time together, and the sound of a waterfall were just what we needed to feel recharged.

Slow moments don’t always happen over tea. Sometimes they’re waiting just down the road. 💚

There’s something about the ritual of making tea that makes the whole day feel a little gentler.

The scoop.
The kettle.
The first pour.
And finally, that warm cup in your hands.

It doesn’t have to be complicated to feel special.

Sometimes all you need is a cup worth remembering.

Today, over a couple cups of tea, Todd and I started talking about why some cups stay with us long after the tea is gone.

Sometimes it’s the tea itself. Sometimes it’s the place, the person sitting across from you, the light coming through the window or a memory you didn’t even realize was waiting to come back.

Maybe that’s part of the ritual.

The cup doesn’t create the moment. It simply gives you a reason to slow down long enough to notice it.

And sometimes, that ordinary little moment becomes a cup worth remembering.

Wyoming has a way of bringing forgotten memories back to life.

I was just a little girl when the rodeo came to Encampment.
I don’t remember much,
only the feeling that something exciting was happening.

Years later…
sitting in the stands in Casper,
watching horses thunder across the arena
hearing the crowd cheer beneath a Wyoming sunset.

I realized I wasn’t just watching a rodeo.

I was reconnecting with a small piece of the place I’ll always call home.

I’ve been taking a little time away from my tea.

Life became very full for a while. Our home needed renovations and repairs, and much of my time and attention went into getting those projects completed. But this season was about more than a house.

June marked one year since my mom passed away.

We made our way to Wyoming to lay her ashes to rest alongside those of my dad and my grandma, a final resting place beneath a young pine on a hill in the mountains, under the wide open sky in a place that has always held a special piece of their hearts.

While we were there, we allowed ourselves to slow down.

We breathed in the open air, felt the warm summer wind, enjoyed the low humidity and took in the endless scenery. We listened to the quiet, watched the wildlife and spent time simply being present.

There was no need to rush. No long list of things waiting to be done. Just big skies, peaceful moments, family, memories and the beauty of Wyoming surrounding us.

We could not have asked for a more meaningful or beautiful experience.

Sometimes life asks us to set things down for a while, not because we have forgotten them, but because there are other moments that need our full attention.

Now I’m slowly finding my way back to my tea, carrying a little more gratitude, a little more stillness and a renewed appreciation for the quiet moments that inspired The Sugar Bowl Collection in the first place.

Some seasons are meant for growing.

Some are meant for remembering.

And some are simply meant for slowing down.
