Getting ready for the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival! 🐉🎋Today I made homemade zongzi, a traditional Chinese rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves.Zongzi are enjoyed during the Dragon Boat Festival, a holiday that honors Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet from ancient China. According to tradition, people raced out in boats to search for him and threw rice dumplings into the river, which is why dragon boat racing and eating zongzi became important festival customs.Making zongzi takes time and patience, but it is a wonderful way to keep our family traditions and culture alive.Can't wait to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival with family and friends! ❤️My favorite filling is pork! 🐷🥰
