Our housekeeper of many years, Lexi, had to leave us,urgently, to take care of her mom and husband. We do not know if and when she will be back, however, we hope and pray for her family to get better and for Lexi to be well and strong to help them.

With a silent smile intact on her face,
she slowly emerges from Room # 4.
Greeting each guest with a heartfelt embrace…
BUT…THE QUEEN IS HERE NO MORE.

Watching action from across the street,
that’s quite abundant and GALORE.
She stands or sits engulfed by heat…
BUT….THE QUEEN IS HERE NO MORE.

This place we call the Breakaway Inn,
for the princess and prince she had in STORE.
To handed down next to next of kin…
AND…THE QUEEN IS HERE NO MORE.

An empty room frozen in time,
until the day comes…to once again open that DOOR.

We can never forget the queen named Michelle.
She’s embedded in our hearts for EVERMORE.
And so are the memories and stories we tell…

There was also a Poetic evening, when we shared our favorite poems, lyrics, quotes and jokes … it started slightly reserved but that is not us, it soon evolved into sharing, with happy and sad tears involved. 🥹

Before all the March’s „ regulars” went home, we had a few, extra special,
Happy Hours.
There was a dancing lesson, complements of our guests Phil and Alla. Phil is a professional dance instructor. We were not the most coordinated group but did our best and had lots of fun. 😀👏

This year we "pulled a Charleston" on our annual Hurricane party. We traveled back in time to the 1920's Prohibition era. Breakaway Inn was transformed into a speakeasy... with secret passcodes, a gatekeeper (dressed in purple) to let you in (or not 😉), and plenty of "moonshine". We even had some pro-prohibition protesters picketing. There were a lot of creative prompts, laughing, and dancing...

This was the 23rd time we've rung the bell for our Valentine's party at Breakaway Inn. And just like how every year is different, so are our celebrations. Great music playlist by Roxy, and a beautiful + fun show with Romy. It was a night to remember 🩷
