Redux Social Hour Thursday: America’s Favorite Dinner! In the 1958 cookbook, “365 Ways to Cook Hamburger”, there were 70 meatloaf recipes. From the first form found in 5th century Rome to Medieval Europe where the Germans added eggs to the 1600’s Pennsylvania Dutch version called scrapple to the Great Depression folks adding bread crumbs, the humble meatloaf has always been a classic comfort food. Visit us this week and try our version. We would do anything for you at Redux!

Redux Social Hour Thursday: this week we are honoring Benjamin Franklin and his Franklin stove invented on this date in 1742. Mr. Franklin created a new design way back when, and, amazingly, most American fireplaces still utilize his box shaped creation today. What we love the most about old Ben was his desire to have stoves available to everyone which he accomplished by refusing to patent his invention. “…that as we enjoy great advantages from the inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours, and this we should do freely and generously.” This Thursday, let Chef Tate serve you from a stove distantly related to Mr. Franklin’s invention a meal of Pork Scallopini with Lemon Caper Piccata. We hope you join us and sure wish Benji could as well.

Redux Social Hour Thursday: In the early years of America’s history, boys were prepared for business and trade while girls were readied to run a house and rear children. Needlework was emphasized as education for the female persuasion and the sampler appeared. Scraps of fabric were lovingly and skillfully joined to tell the story of young girls’ lives. To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, Redux is compelled to honor the humble but profound contribution of our First Ladies and the sampler quilt. Redux Social Hour Thursday: did you know half of the farm raised catfish in America comes from the Mississippi Delta? Belzoni, MS is a town of 2000 people but is also the Catfish Capitol. A good portion of that 50% mentioned earlier comes from farms around Belzoni. I know y’all have been sad that you missed their Catfish Festival in April, but you can join us this Thursday for a Catfish Dinner done Redux style! Your friends are here.
