I swear we didn’t plan this 😂 While La Mulata Restaurant was showing us some love on social media this morning, we had already set up a hangout there for this afternoon, to grab a drink and chat with a friend! WOW! Amazing people, great service and excellent drink/food options! I enjoyed a Passion Fruit Margarita and some Sweet Plantains. Show this business some South side love and check them out! It starts with green coffee—the unroasted bean. Specialty coffee is grown by dedicated farmers who carefully cultivate and harvest each crop. After harvest, the coffee is processed, prepared for export, and sold through trusted producers who play a vital role in the specialty coffee supply chain.

When we source our coffee, we work closely with these same producers. Beyond connecting farmers with roasters around the world, specialty producers help ensure fair and sustainable pricing, invest in processing equipment and infrastructure that many farmers couldn’t otherwise access, and create opportunities for farmers to reach the global market.
Our goal is to build long-term, transparent relationships that support producers and farming communities year after year. Transparency is at the heart of ethical sourcing. Direct trade isn’t just simply buying coffee directly from a farmer—it’s about creating a responsible supply chain that values quality, fairness, and the long-term success of the people who grow the coffee.

This commitment to quality and respect is also why most specialty coffees are roasted on the lighter side. A lighter roast preserves the unique flavors developed at origin, allowing the coffee’s natural characteristics to shine while honoring the incredible care and craftsmanship that went into growing it.

🦈 CUDDLY SHARK 🌊

Featured as our annual Shark Week fundraiser, The Cuddly Shark changes year-to-year and raises funds for Project Hiu. According to their website,‘ Project Hiu’, Hiu being the Indonesian word for Shark, is an initiative which aims to provide alternative income to fishermen in one of the largest shark fisheries in Indonesia, and the world. By hiring the shark fishing boats and locals that crew them, we sought to engage the fisherman in a very different role. Tourism. A natural, alternative income that simultaneously and effectively protects sharks. 10% of The Cuddly Shark drink sales and 100% of our PWYC drip coffee will be donated to Project Hiu.

The Cuddly Shark is a tea soda that is sweetened with peaberry tea, lavender, + blackberry-- then topped with a plash of cream. Only available this July :)

Have you tried our Roaster's Choice espresso yet? This is a new option to upgrade your espresso-forward drink to one of our single-origin coffees. You can expect a unique, bright, and adventurous espresso that showcases the origin, process, and farm of the bean. While not ideal for flavored lattes, this taste great in a cappuccino, cortado, or even on its own.
