The individually owned restaurants serve pork chops, catfish, livers, gizzards and more, with all the trimmings. Centered in the heart of West Shawmut (Lanett, AL), Newt’s Food Machine got its start in August of 1981 when James Newton decided to apply his cooking knowledge to a restaurant centered on uniquely flavored foods. Now known as Newt’s Fried Chicken, the establishment has expanded to three locations including West Point, GA and Lafayette AL.
