Ok, so first of all… yes this many pictures are necessary to explain why we will be closing at 2 tomorrow. We love the coffee shop, but in the 3 years we have been open- family has always come first. Usually we are staffed well enough that it never causes a break in service, but being at the beginning of the school year this isn’t the case this time. The pictures were necessary to show you the dog of a lifetime that has no idea he is a dog. He is equally loved by all 4 of us. We fight over who he will sleep with and he sleeps under the covers somewhere every night. He answers to Murphy, Murky, Durky, Dirk or a million other names. He is almost 11 years old and a vital part of our family. We went for a fairly routine Doctor’s appt to switch Murphy over to a new Vets office on Monday and to mention that he was a little lazier than normal and a little less of a foodie. At that visit, we got the worst news. In the 24 hours that followed, we went to 2 different ERs, he was seen by a specialist, they did tons of scans and bloodwork and confirmed that he has a very agressive cancer and they expect him to make it a couple of days to a couple of weeks. We are praying for a miracle, but also savoring every second we have left with him. Victoria and I were both scheduled tomorrow, so the shop has to close at 2. We hope you understand. The coffee shop is great, but we would trade it all for one extra week with our best friend. Please pray for our family- it’s been a very rough couple of years.

We had a great Sunday Market Swap at the shop today 😊 I forgot to take any pics during the event, but here is a pic of my goodies. Can’t wait to do it again! Chase’s Super Shake this week is the Tropical cheesecake. It starts with guava cheesecake ice cream and has strawberry and mango fruit puree drizzle. We guarantee that if you try it- you will not be disappointed!

We don’t close very often and that’s because we are lucky to have a great team. Most of our crew is 16–21 years old and they can run the shop (and my house) while I’m out of town. But they’re also high school and college kids who have lots of fun things planned this summer too. We play a scheduling game each week that’s like a jigsaw puzzle working around their availability and somehow it usually all works out with no interruption in service at the shop. This weekend, though, we all ended up having plans at the same time. One of my birthday gifts was tickets to see Noah Kahan 🎉 and it just happens to be the same weekend that about 80% of our team is out of town. So this Saturday we’ll be a little short staffed and will be open with a limited menu (all drinks and desserts- just no made to order sandwiches). Thanks for understanding and for supporting a small business whose team has a lot of fun serving you all, but also a lot of fun in general 😊

If you didn’t catch these guys last Friday on WSPA 7News Zip Trip to Landrum, go ahead and check out this clip. They did such a great job telling about our shop and showcasing our goodies. My mom would be thrilled that Chase make a point to give her recipe credit for the cakes 🙂 Thanks so much again to Joy at Foothills Amish Furniture for being the biggest blessing to us and making our goodies look spectacular with her talent and some gorgeous items from the store. We are so blessed by all of our downtown business neighbors! Also- don’t forget National Ice Cream Day meets customer appreciation this Sunday from 1:30-3! Come see us for totally free ice cream and drip coffee!

On National Ice Cream day, this Sunday, our family will be opening the shop up to give away ice cream as a way to say thank you to our customers for supporting us for the past 3 years. This is also a great time to check out our new premium Ice Cream Club brand ice cream! Come see us at 1:30. We won’t be open for lattes, sandwiches and desserts. We will just have drip coffee set up for self serve and free ice cream. No purchase even possible this day 🙂 We will be opening from 1:30-3 or until we run out of 6 of our 3 gallon containers. Can’t wait to see you all on Sunday!

Chase’s Super Shake this week is “The Carrot Cake Shake” He said and I quote “Every bunny is gonna want it” 😂 jk he definitely didn’t. I did.
This one is loaded with:

Caramel drizzle
Cream cheese icing rim with cinnamon sugar
Topped with whipped cream and wet walnuts

We had to bump the date out by 2 weeks because of scheduling conflict, so there is still time to sign up! This is going to be such a fun afternoon. So far, some of the things that people mentioned bringing are:
Reusable coffee sleeves
Latte keychains
Grocery bag holders
Crocheted item
