Almost three years ago, at the beginning of my cafe journey, I started seeing a little girl with beautiful eyes and another sweet little girl who talked like she was 5 years old, even though she was only 2. That’s where our connection started, and their mother became my friend — from regular customer to friend, and from friend to part of the family.💕
She’s always been there for me when I’ve struggled with the business and has listened to all my stories and drama, even though she’s already busy with 5 kids. (Seems like she’s had 6 kids since back then 🤭)
The kids have brought me so many letters, flowers, and other gifts that warmed my heart and made my day brighter. They’re also my little helpers who set up the tables outside and put up the signs almost every day.
Here’s the fun fact: when the mom started ordering decaf, I realized something was going on — haha, yes, there you go, number six. 🤭🤭
This picture is from the day they had their farewell party. They made an A to Z list of their favorite things about Lancaster, and A was Aura Little Cafe, which made me feel so special. I’m so grateful to have been part of their daily routine and that they were always there to support my little business, no matter what.🫶🫶
Now I’m going to miss these kiddos almost every day because they’re starting a new journey in another country. It’s very exciting, and it makes me feel like the time I left my home country and started building a life here. And at the same time, I realized how my mom and my family felt when I left the country.🥹
But for now, we have to say goodbye until we meet again. Hopefully I can visit them soon in the future so I can bring her coffee — because I know what she’ll miss most about Lancaster is definitely my coffee, haha...
For me, this is what owning a small business is really about — not just coffee, but community, connection, and heart.🤎
