BREAKING NEWS: CAT CAFE OWNER TAKES VACATION ✈️

Starting tomorrow, the cafe owner, social media guy, and nonbinary mother of cats (all one person) will be out of the country for about two weeks!!! 😍

What this means:
The cafe will be open as usual, and seshes will continue! My incredible staff and co-owner will be holding down the fort, caring for the kitties, and providing great service for y’all. Don’t expect that to change!

The only day we will be CLOSED will be Wednesday, June 24th. Please expect emails, social media content, and response times to be affected by this, as well. We’re a veryyyyy small business, and when one of us is gone, it does affect things! Please just know that everyone is doing their best and that we appreciate your patience and understanding if anything is a tiny bit wonky.

I’m super grateful for my wonderful staff that have made it possible for me to take this much needed break ❤️ please be EXTRA nice to them, they deserve it! 🫶🥰

Insane that we even have to make this post.

We’ve been noticing lately that when we inform groups of guests about Heather and her sassy/scratchy tendencies and her boundaries, some of them take it upon themselves to try and break her No Scratch Streak by antagonizing her to the point that she scratches them. Which, by the way, ANY cat will do if they are pushed past their breaking point/their boundaries are disrespected.

We’ve also seen people (ADULTS), throw cat toys directly at cats’ faces, touch them when they’re clearly not wanting to be touched, and seemingly disregard them as living, feeling creatures altogether.

Let us be absolutely clear:
These cats are not toys. They’re deeply sensitive animals, and we will NOT allow them to be disrespected or harmed in any way. If we see you doing a n y t h i n g to upset or harm the cats, you can expect a very swift, unapologetic removal and you will not be allowed back to spend time with them.

Sorry for the tough love but again, INSANE that we have to say this???

If you see anyone in your session behaving poorly towards the cats (or the other humans in the sesh, for that matter), please tell us immediately so that we can hold them accountable. We’re not afraid to call them out and make them feel as ignorant as they’re acting.

Thanks to everyone else who has treated our cafe cats with nothing but respect, kindness and gentleness. ❤️

Scoops keep on scoopin!!! Number 53: Theo!

Theo, or the Little Prince as I like to call him, was one of our quickest adoptions ever. He got to the cafe, his new humans laid their eyes on him, and that was that. We do not blame them… just LOOK at this perfect little guy??!?

Theo was our first ever kitty from , our feline guinea pig, if you will! We are so excited to work with them and know they care just as much about the kitties as we do. Theo has known nothing but love in each location (foster, cat cafe, and now his forever home), and that’s exactly the way it should be.

We love you Theo! Here’s to a wonderful life! 🥂

Cats and baseball? An odd pitch (⚾️🥁) but why not?!

We were stoked to be invited to Purrs at the Park, a cat-themed evening at Clipper Baseball Stadium right here in Lancaster! Before the Stormers game, everyone was able to walk around wearing all kinds of cute cat garb… and some folks even had their cats with them!We had a lot of fun telling folks all about the cat cafe, our adoptable kitties, and of course, Heather 😈

Thanks for the opportunity, ! We had an ameowsing (??? Is that anything?) time! 😸

Scoop number 52: Alexei!

Alexei came from just a few short weeks ago as a sweet and shy boy, unsure of his new surroundings. We all thought he was so gentle and unique-looking… kind of like a dragon, one may say??

While he did not make friends with Heather, he did make a lot of human friends, and one in particular from when he was still at Columbia! They fell in love with him in an instant and the rest is history.

Alexei’s new name is Bastian (which is a dragony name, right?? Okay we’ll drop it) and we think he’s going to be very happy in his new nest 🐉 (hehe)

We love you, Bastian! Enjoy your new home and human ❤️

Big exciting news on the rescue front! 🐱

We are EXPANDING our rescue partners through a bridge program that connects foster-based rescues and the cat cafe that we’re calling the 717 Rescue Nexus!

In order to expand our outreach to rescues with less visibility and exposure for their foster kitties, we’re teaming up with them to bring these kitties into the cafe. This system will allow us to accept cats on an individual basis from established rescues to offer them a temporary home with LOTS of exposure and socialization at the cafe as spots open up. Our partners are on board, excited and so are we! Think of the cafe as just another foster...but with a lot more visitors than the average home, and so many more opportunities for cats and potential adopters to fall in love 😍

Note: this program is for established 501c3 animal rescues. There is an application process that each rescue will need to fill out for each cat they would like to submit to the cafe. Rescues will need to provide their 501c3 status, proof of vaccinations, vetting, spay/neuter, and the cats need to be suitable for a cafe environment.

We’re taking this REAL seriously; we are dedicated to the health, safety, and comfort of our adoptable cats and are passionate about helping them; but we need to make sure we’re doing our due diligence, for these cats and for our cat cafe patrons. ❤️
