🚨 Breaking Mews 🚨

It happened again! We are currently experiencing a p**pulation boom 🐾💩

Due to the rising number of homeless kitties in Polk County, we’ve welcomed a few extra furry friends into our Lounge—15 to be exact! That’s about 3–4 more than we usually serve… and let’s just say… they all have very active opinions about where to go potty 😅

Our kitties are happy, loved, and VERY well-fed… which means… they p**p. A lot. Like… impressively so.

We are officially in a litter emergency and could really use your help keeping the litter room in tip-top shape 👑🚽

If you’re able to donate litter, we (and our very relieved kitties) would be furrever grateful!

Stop by, send some our way (via Amazon https://a.co/0iM42WhF ), or simply share this post—because it takes a village to handle this much… business 💩

Thank you for helping us keep our kitties comfy, clean, and just a little less… stinky 💕

🐾 HELP ME PICK MY NAME! 🐾
Hello, my name is Little Bit… well, for now! 😸
As you can probably tell, I’m not so little anymore, and I think it’s time for a name that fits the fabulous cat I’m becoming! So, the wonderful people at Kitty Cat Lounge and Saving Paws Rescue have decided to hold a little contest to help me find my new name! 🎉
Here’s how to enter:
🐱 Come visit me at Kitty Cat Lounge!
Spend some time getting to know me, see my personality, and decide what name you think suits me best.
OR
💬 Comment below with the name you think I should have!
You have until October 14th to submit your name ideas. Then we’ll pick our favorite!
And what’s in it for you? 👀
The winner will receive ONE FREE HOUR OF KITTY CAT TIME plus some Kitty Cat Lounge swag! 🐾☕️

🎃🐈‍⬛ OCTOBER IS PACKED TO THE WHISKERS! 🐈‍⬛🎃

October has officially gone full spooky season at Kitty Cat Lounge, and our calendar is so packed we’re pretty sure we need to add another week to the month. 😹

Whether you’re into art, cats, crafts, drag, trivia, yoga, books, games, D&D, local makers, community events—or just hanging out with a coffee and a cat… we’ve got something for you!

And this month is EXTRA special because we’re bringing back our quarterly Curiosities Expo: Oddities, Art & Kitties, featuring 30+ vendors from all across Central Florida! 🖤✨

We’re also taking Kitty Cat Lounge on the road twice this month! Come find us at Rainbow Roots Festival celebrating our friends on the rainbow 🌈 and at the Bonnet Springs Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade. Both are offsite events, so come say “hi” if you spot our table!

🎭 Costume Exchange — October 16, 2–6 PM
Bring gently used costumes you’re ready to pass along and take a “new-to-you” costume home FREE! Kids, adults, families—everyone is welcome. Give one, take one, give several, take several. The goal is keeping costumes out of the landfill and making sure everyone gets to have a little Halloween fun. 🎃

🐾 Florida Polytechnic Family Weekend — October 17
We’re partnering with Florida Polytechnic University to celebrate Family Weekend! Bring your family to Kitty Cat Lounge, show your Florida Poly identification, and we’ll have a special Kitty Cat Lounge surprise waiting for you all day long. 😻

And then, of course…

🍬👻 HALLOWEEN — October 31 👻🍬
If you walk through our doors in costume, you get candy! Because obviously. 😹

Save this post, mark your calendar, bring your friends, and prepare to be very, very busy.

October at Kitty Cat Lounge: come for the cats, stay for… apparently EVERYTHING. 😹🧡

Event details are subject to change. Check individual event posts for more information and RSVP details.

🌈 Small business, BIG community spirit! 😻

Kitty Cat Lounge is excited to be tabling at the Rainbow Roots Festival in Lakeland on Sunday, October 4, at the Lake Mirror Center Auditorium!

Come say hello, learn a little more about our mission, chat with us about our adoptable cats, and discover what makes Kitty Cat Lounge such a special part of our local community. 🐾💕

Most importantly, come out and support local LGBTQ+ creators, artists, makers, and small business owners who help make Lakeland such a wonderfully diverse and creative place to call home.

We’ll see you there! 🌈🐈‍⬛☕️

🎃🐈‍⬛ COSTUME SWAP: BECAUSE CATS AREN’T THE ONLY ONES WHO LIKE TO REUSE THEIR OUTFITS! 🐈‍⬛🎃

Kitty Cat Lounge is hosting our inaugural Costume Swap on October 16 from 2–6 PM, and we’re making Halloween a little more affordable, a little more sustainable, and a LOT more fun!

Have costumes lurking in the back of the closet that have only been worn once? 👻
Bring ’em in!

You can swap your gently used costumes for something new-to-you… and completely FREE! No tricks. No treats required. 😉

🧙‍♀️ Kids & adults
👻 Scary & not-so-scary
🦸 Superheroes & villains
🎃 Princesses, pumpkins & everything in between

Nothing is too spooky, silly, sparkly, or strange—as long as it’s clean and in good, wearable condition, we want it!

This swap is especially for families with costumes to pass along AND families who may not be able to fit a new Halloween costume into the budget this year. Everyone deserves to have a little Halloween magic. 🧡

So open that costume closet, unleash those forgotten goblins, and bring them to the Lounge!

One family’s “too small” can be another family’s “PURR-fect fit.” 🐾

🐾 Celebrating Kaelah! 🐾

Kitty Cat Lounge is so excited to celebrate Kaelah’s one-year volunteer anniversary! 🫶🏻

Kaelah is an Environmental Studies major and Psychology minor at Florida Southern College, with a passion for animal welfare, conservation, and animal behavior. Over the past year, she has become such a valued part of the Kitty Cat Lounge family, helping care for our cats and supporting our mission of connecting them with loving forever homes.

Her experiences at the Lounge have only deepened her passion for animals and inspired her interest in pursuing a career in zoology, conservation, and animal care.

We are incredibly grateful for Kaelah’s compassion, dedication, and hard work—and for the positive difference she makes in the lives of our cats every single day! 🐈💗

Happy one-year volunteer anniversary, Kaelah! We’re so lucky to have you! 🐾
