Our business is owned by both a Lumbee tribal member and a Waccamaw Siouan tribal member, hence the name Two Natives. We will both forever be proud of our Native heritage and continue to educate and share our culture with those we encounter. The comments made by the Chief of the Cherokee tribe yesterday sadden me and cause me to think on the struggles our ancestors had just fighting to exist. And here we have, over 100 years later, still fighting to exist. To be identified finally as what we really are, one of the strongest tribal nations in this country. Our orayers are that God intervenes and heals the pain our people feel and have felt from being treated as if we are not worthy of being called Native American. God bless the Lumbee Tribe and all tribes that exist within NC borders. We’re still here and we’re still fighting.
